Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am tallbuildings:

enjoying this JB on a Friday morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am ausmanx:

watched William Klein's excellent doco about Eldridge Cleaver this week and i'm really starting to think he and Stokely Carmichael were pretty much on the money about most things!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am sphere:

hey folks. "Be Thankful" has been pretty popular on FMU as of late.
Avatar 9:29am Chris from DC:

Morning, digging this set.
Avatar 9:31am Marcel M:

Lyrics are so ill in this DeVaughn track.
Avatar 9:36am Wild Neil:

PEACE everybody. Happy Friday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am ausmanx:

there is NO ONE ELSE who would put together this set list
Avatar 9:36am Polyus:

Damn you Jolene!
Avatar 9:37am Wild Neil:

Jolene is my favorite Country song of all time. Thanks Marty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am sphere:

amazing guitar. Prince and Sun Ra evidently came from the same planet.
Avatar 9:42am Marcel M:

OMG Pimpin' All Over The World haaaa.
Avatar 9:43am Marcel M:

Marty, Killin' it.

Avatar 9:50am Wild Neil:

I honestly cannot remember the last live show I saw...it might have been a band in a record store in Ridgecrest (formerly Crumville) CA back in 2007 or so....in the back of a record store....it was open mic night and some guys played...
  9:53am Sam:

I'd also rather feed an apple to a deer

Live set McSorley! TCB!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Greg from ZONE 5:

Marty Party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am MD:

tried to make one out of fwd slashes but it was a mess!

TCB..............LIGHTNING BOLT!!!
Avatar 10:07am Polyus:

This Malo cut reminds me of an older coworker I used to have, who would look up and say "This is a nice song". Yes it is.
Avatar 10:07am Cecile:

Avatar 10:08am Cecile:

Avatar 10:09am Cecile:

I boughted the Clipping ep after hearing it.
I'm sure Daveed is going to have a lot of Redd Foxx and Bob Saget moments after the Hamilton movie comes out.
Avatar 10:10am Cecile:

but they are a good group! and the pitchfork review of their last full length is hilariously clueless.
Avatar 10:15am Cheri Pi:

I need comedic relief, I must read dat
Avatar 10:15am Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am sphere:

the pitchfork approach to rating albums always puzzled me. is 7 good or not, and 7.3 approximately .3 gooder than that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am melinda:

I love Green Rocky Road but hadn't heard this version. There are so many. Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Ken From Hyde Park:

Heh, enjoying this King Missile.
  10:22am Will:

I saw Malo live with openers Eggs Over Easy in 1972 or 3 at Fairfield (CT) University!
Avatar 10:23am Wild Neil:

This Jesus song is pretty funny! King Missile does a pretty funny song about petting a kitty even though it might be a stray and have diseases...."here kitty kitty kitty, here kitty kitty kitty".
This next song is disturbing.
Avatar 10:23am Marcel M:

Is that a huge joint in Karen Dalton's mouth?
Avatar 10:26am Cecile:

I don't know which grated my nerves worse, the Mirah or the Jerks. I'll have to say the Mirah, because if I have enough coffee, Lydia Lunch is pretty great.
Avatar 10:27am Chris from DC:

I messed up not going to see Drive Like Jehu on this current tour, didn't I?
Avatar 10:28am Polyus:

Jehu sounded pretty unique at the time, but boy did they inspire a lot of tight-assed young men to make a lot of tight-assed music.
Avatar 10:29am Polyus:

-maybe not to the degree Fugazi did, but close.
Avatar 10:30am Cecile:

Poly, maybe? I'm out of it. I just found out that Dillinger Four were influential. Who knew?
Avatar 10:31am Cecile:

Big Mastodon Business
Avatar 10:31am Cecile:

Big Baroness
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am common:

horses! hello
Avatar 10:32am Wild Neil:

The "No New York" album looks kinda cool...produced by Brian Eno!
Avatar 10:34am Cecile:

I enjoy your enthusiasm, Neil. The world must seem like a fresh new place now that you've left cryogenic sleep.

;) ;D
Avatar 10:34am Cecile:

this is from the person who guessed Green Day was a folk band when she took a record store application test in the early 90s. hahahha
Avatar 10:35am Cecile:

I'm strangely proud of that.
Avatar 10:36am MenfussMike:

who sings on this?
Avatar 10:37am Cheri Pi:

Jared Warren
Avatar 10:37am Wild Neil:

@Cecile-I liked Green Day for a few months back in the early 90's but really cannot stand them now....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am sphere:

in high school, i was a huge Chicago fan and had no clue about the DC music scene. change did come but it took a while.
Avatar 10:38am Cecile:

same here once I knew who the hell they were. Their stuff is catchy, but it's kind of on the nose. Doesn't hold up to hearing a million times.
Avatar 10:38am Wild Neil:

@Sphere-Chicago is filled with excellent musicians. I think they are great but that is solely based on "25 to 4"
Avatar 10:40am Cecile:

sphere, were you in band? All the people I knew who were in band liked Chicago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am sphere:

yes i played trombone and baritone horn. :)
Avatar 10:40am Wild Neil:

I need a sectional drawing....
Avatar 10:41am Cecile:

hahahhahah called it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am Devin B.:

Hell yes!
  10:49am JDM:

Wow dude, this is what I want!
Avatar 10:50am Polyus:

I remember travelling through Pensacola back in the mid-90s and seeing "This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb" stickers everywhere, thinking to myself that it was the best band name ever. Didn't manage to get one of those stickers though.
Avatar 10:54am Cecile:

someone put it on a bike, and it caused quite a commotion on a college campus.
Avatar 10:54am Cecile:

usually when something's a pipe bomb they don't send you advance notice.
Avatar 11:00am MenfussMike:

that Karen Dalton album was my favorite album released that year
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am sphere:

My favorite band name is Here Are The Facts You Requested.
Avatar 11:01am MenfussMike:

@polyus....those Bomb stickers were all over Memphis too. So much so that I thought they were a local band.
Avatar 11:02am Polyus:

There She Goes was used in a birth control commercial, for cryin' out loud!
Avatar 11:05am Cecile:

the google doodle of the running fruit synchs perfectly to this.
Avatar 11:06am Polyus:

@Mike - they were pretty well travelled, at least around the Southeast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am Ken From Hyde Park:

Ah, cool! PILL is here!
Avatar 11:11am Marcel M:

This is great
Avatar 11:16am Cecile:

Cartoonist Mitch Clem from Nothing Nice to Say was a fan, that's how I heard about them.
Avatar 11:19am Wild Neil:

Clicky star for TV Wedding...are they live now? Or is it pre-recorded?
Avatar 11:20am Marty McSorley:

pre recorded
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Stevel:

Great set, and you set it up perfectly with your last set. Hail, master Marty!
Avatar 11:33am Marcel M:

Cool they did a jam while there. Sounding good.

I say SVENONIUS 4 GOD, @Greg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Greg from ZONE 5:

Avatar 11:45am Wild Neil:

Heaven's Gate's guitar sounds a bit like Killing Joke...and I gave it a clicky star! Killer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Cheyenne. How's your new digs?
Avatar 11:49am Cheyenne:

Haha! Hi KenFHP, I dig the new digs! My sinuses are a little less enthusiastic though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am steve:

who'd win in a fight, Svenonius or God...
Avatar 11:53am Marcel M:

Hahahhaha. Awesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Greg from ZONE 5:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Greg from ZONE 5:

@steve: Trick question. Svenonius IS God!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am melinda:

Cheyenne is in Hollywood? Cool.
Avatar 11:56am Cheyenne:

Trick question! Neither of them exist! Svenonius is a collective hallucination
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Greg from ZONE 5:

Trick question! Cheyenne IS Hollywood.
Avatar 11:57am Wild Neil:

I guess I have to wait until after lunch to get my sectional sketch...
Avatar 11:58am Cecile:

what is the sectional sketch for?
Avatar 11:59am Marcel M:

We watched the movie Selena like, 5 times in my HS Spanish class.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Thanks much, Marty!
Avatar 12:01pm Cecile:

now say in en espanol
Avatar 12:01pm Marcel M:

Thanks Marty!
Avatar 12:06pm Cecile:

I imagine Ice rapping this as security is dragging him out to the parking lot.
