"independant"?
  12:07pm
JtotheK:

Hi Tony! Good day everyone.
Avatar 12:07pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, βrian!

Yep, that's how they spell "independent." I just tell it as I see it....

Hey now. Tony! Can you send us some rain down here? we're in a post-summer heat wave ....
Avatar 12:13pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, Carmichael!

We've been getting less rain than usual too, so I'm going to be greedy and hold on to it all.
Avatar 12:19pm

Good afternoon Tony and everyone!

Tony, is that blue leather case looking object the cover of the cassette tape? Looks pretty good but wondering how the tape gets stored in there.
Avatar 12:44pm
Tony Coulter:

Yep -- that's the cover. I removed the cassette for the photo because it lumpifies the cover, making the text harder to read. The cassette goes under the flap on the right -- the whole thing is a pouch or pocket.
Avatar 12:47pm
Tony Coulter:

The cover was designed by Deborah Jaffe of Master/Slave Relationship.
Avatar 12:48pm
Tony Coulter:

The lip of the flap is just to the right of the ring hole.
Avatar 12:49pm
Mayuko:

I see, interesting. Aging might have made the design look even better I imagine.
Avatar 12:49pm
Tony Coulter:

I mean, just to the left!

... of the ring hole....

I would buy a record called "... of the ring hole ..."
Avatar 1:00pm
Tony Coulter:

Heya, Dean!

The Way of the Ring Hole. What's more important: the ring ... or the ring hole?
  1:02pm
Dean:

Put it this way: I would not buy a record called "... of the donut hole ..."
  1:05pm
βrian:

Through which grows the ringworm ...

How about "Lord of the Ring Holes"?

Avatar 1:32pm

Greetings, geezerette!
Avatar 1:36pm
Tony Coulter:

So, as you will have noticed by now, much of this cassette is sort of an '80s cassette-underground take on '60s psychedelia.
Avatar 1:37pm
V Priceless:

cool stuff
Avatar 1:44pm
Tony Coulter:

This track is a bit Silver Apple-ish.
Avatar 1:48pm
Tony Coulter:

Hmm -- interesting. Discogs tells me that Sound Colour were from Tacoma (sort of my neck of the woods these days).
Avatar 1:51pm
Tony Coulter:

Das Organisierte Chaos was an offshoot of the band Circles: www.discogs.com...
Avatar 1:54pm
geezerette:

Yeah it definitely sounds like both decades.
  1:55pm
Dean:

Pacific 231 (by Honegger) was the '20s.
Avatar 1:59pm
Tony Coulter:

I suspect the Algy Krebbs Quartet (on now) were an offshoot of Proof of Utah. They're on the same small label anyhow (Smiley Turtle).
Avatar 1:59pm
geezerette:

Dean I'll see if I can find the original.

I'm assuming Spongehead Experience = Spongehead (the Shimmy Disc band)
Avatar 2:09pm

Who needs facebook? Those last guys were providing the same sort of interesting narratives/updates three decades ago.
Avatar 2:11pm

You mean the Spongehead boys? At least they weren't showing you pictures of what they ate.
Avatar 2:12pm

As mentioned, Brian Ladd is one half of Psyclones.
