I have a record from a group called proyecto a (no parenthesis around the A) that was 80s hiphop en espanol. Don't have access to it right now to confirm.
Avatar 12:31pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey ho, NGH! Weird coincidence, that....
Avatar 12:37pm
V Priceless:

@ Tony - I'm reading lots of stellar previews about new VDGG album dropping 9/30. Could be their last.
Avatar 12:38pm

Yeah, I've seen people praising it too. Stay tuned for Peter Hammill later in this set, btw.

: )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
coelacanth:

proyecto means "project", so there may be many records using that.
Avatar 12:41pm
Tony Coulter:

Oh, that makes sense. I was thinking it meant "projection" -- which would make for a greater coincidence.
Avatar 12:45pm
northguineahills:

In Tony's example, proyecto is a noun, in mine (it should have read proyecta), it was a verb (projected?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
coelacanth:

...i visited my facadebook page last night for the first time in 2-3 (+?) years to see how badly they've perverted my profile over time. i had "Caruso" as a musical "like" (as in Enrico). they changed it to "caruso" - some bullshit dj or something. i thought he must have delusions of grandeur but maybe that's his surname?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm
coelacanth:

ngh, in that case - i don't get it!

I've seen James Intveld many times and he's brilliant. Is this a brother? Didn't know he had one!

Howdy Tony & gang!
Avatar 1:22pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey there, geezerette!

Dunno if the two Intvelds are related ... but it is an unusual name, so....
Avatar 1:22pm
northguineahills:

@coelacanth - proyectar is the verb form, to project, while as you mentioned earlier, proyecto, is the noun form, therefore (a) project. One of the very few examples where homophones in English, and their corresponding homophones in Spanish are identical in each respective language.
Avatar 1:24pm
northguineahills:

Although, not a true homophone in English as the accent is different for either one.
Avatar 1:25pm
geezerette:

That's what I was thinking Tony, only Intveld I've ever heard of. Maybe just an early record. His Dad's a musician too.

Tony @1:58 no doubt; but it was also a faster track to recognition in a white man's world.
- just as Jimi Hendrix was marketed as "the wild man of borneo" at first -as if he was just a novelty. man that pissed him off.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm

really Sem? i'm surprised.
- Tony's program is often quite different than this -as in: more "noise", weirdness, out there long proggy jams...
Avatar 2:32pm
Tony Coulter:

@ coelacanth: Definitely see what you're saying -- but Screamin' Jay's shtick also gave him permission to act crazy and even a bit dangerous in a white man's world ... which was a kind of victory, methinks.
