Postwar atmospherica. High bop modernism and Afro-Latin sounds, twilight exotica and soundtrack moods, soul stompers and weepers, hypnotic R&B and blues, mystical '60s pop, lonely country, lonelier rock 'n' roll, instrumental weirdness, electronic creaking. Bringing worlds beyond into the worlds at hand.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm coelacanth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm melinda:

you're having gyoza? that sounds good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm JtotheK:

Cool Miles soundtrack, I have never seen the record ... finally did see the film a few years back, though.
Avatar 10:13pm Little Danny:

Hi Melinda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm melinda:

Avatar 10:14pm Little Danny:

@J2tK It's truly one of my favorite Miles albums. He's in full noir mode
Avatar 10:14pm northguineahills:

I'm happy, as I thought I was down to my last $7, but lo and behold, while unpacking, I found a gift card from xmas that still had $11 on it, so I'll be beering myself tomorrow! Also, I have a phone interview for a fun job next week (minus being in BFE FL (keeping my fingers crossed). It's been one month, and dannng, I miss NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm melinda:

That must be French for Elevator to the Gallows, then. There was a reference to it earlier today. Must look into it now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm JtotheK:

what type of beering NGH? i'm enjoying local IPA currently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm melinda:

Good luck with the job interview, ngh
Avatar 10:18pm Little Danny:

Indeed it is Melinda. With Jeanne Moreau, a Cool Blue Babe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm JtotheK:

@Little Danny -- yeah, for some reason i've deluded myself into thinking i'll find the 10" OST on Fontana... don't know if it still is pricey, but at one point that went consistently for 200-300+. ie out of my budget.
Avatar 10:26pm Flash Strap:

show is wonderful tonight LD
Avatar 10:27pm Little Danny:

Thanks Flash!
Avatar 10:31pm northguineahills:

Right now, I can only afford crappy domestic beer, as my now $18 is going to have to last me a long time. If every thing is fast tracked, I might see a paycheck by Thanksgiving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm JtotheK:

for crappy domestic beer lately i've been partial to M. High Life. but, also Blatz is highly recommended.
Avatar 10:38pm geezerette:

Classy playlist!
Avatar 10:42pm northguineahills:

Miller High Life is my preferred crappy beer and for it's apv, but the most volume for the buck specials in FL I can get an 18 pack of Rolling Rock for $10, and it's at the lower threshold of what crappy beer I can endure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm JtotheK:

i tried an 8-pack of Rhinelander Shorty bottles, which was $4 ... and not really worth every penny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm mauri:

Avatar 10:51pm Little Danny:

Mauri! Hello! Welcome!
Avatar 10:52pm northguineahills:

Compared to NYC, the prices in FL here are a steal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm mauri:

I was listening your show from the archive yesterday. Gladly woke up early enough to catch the coolness live.
Avatar 10:56pm northguineahills:

Thanks Little Danny, I might make it back before midnight, skal!
Avatar 10:58pm Little Danny:

Avatar 11:28pm Little Danny:

This Freddie Rodriguez goes out to you Pete. Do you know it?
  11:34pm Dean:

This set makes me think of Wenzel's Music Town in Downey, CA (hometown of The Carpenters and The Blasters, among others). Do you know it?
  11:37pm Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

No dont know that Freddie Rodriguez track, or Freddie but killer groove, thats for sure!
Avatar 11:37pm Little Danny:

  11:41pm Dean:

It was a landmark for record collectors. Start here: https://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/7055/ I went there precisely once, even though I lived all of ten miles away. Wall-to-wall vintage vinyl.
Avatar 11:43pm Little Danny:

Oh this is terrific - thanks Dean!
  11:49pm Dean:

You're welcome. I wish you'd seen the joint.
  11:50pm Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Ahh the Jackson Sisters I Believe In Miracles, killer Disco groove, gotta pick this up
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm JtotheK:

great jacksons sisters track... the Mark Capanni 'I Believe In Miracles' 45 (on Capitol?) is also great ...
Avatar 11:53pm Little Danny:

Yeah, I've actually come to prefer the Capanni version. It's the original I think
