Hey there. Would you help me monitor levels today? Still not sure how things are sounding...
  9:03am
Doctorjazz:

listening on my phones on Ozzie walk, but I'll let you know how it sounds.
  9:05am
Doctorjazz:

sounds fine in the announcements.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am
Jeff Golick:

Ok, thanks! Good to see you; nice walking weather?
  9:10am
Doctorjazz:

pleasant walking weather, no rain now, bit crisp, nice.
I do think I listen in mono, this piece sounds it, but that could be some seeing on my phone, or the fmu app.
  9:16am
Doctorjazz:

setting, that is.
headphone listening gives a weird sense of space, sounds being all inside your head, but you still get that right left things, drums being, say, over my left eye.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am
Jeff Golick:

Right. I listen with headphones, too, @drjz, but we might not be hearing the exact same mix...

morning!

Good morning, @melinda! Welcome.

Hello, @hyde! I'll try to play some music to move units by.

This jazz is making the morning great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am
Jeff Golick:

@thedunkel: alright! Glad you're here for it.

So, out of curiosity, I got home from Ozzie's walk, plugged the headphones (nice cans, not inexpensive, FAD Sonorous III headphones I'm going to review for TheHeadphoneList.com, if I ever get my act together...revealing my geeky audiophile tendencies here) into the iMac. Not a big deal, there are audiophiles who feel sound took a nose dive when it went from mono to stereo, but I'm sure I'm listening to mono. Now I'm using the 128k MP3. Music, as usual, is great, digging the Tim Berne track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am
Jeff Golick:

Thanks for that, @doctorjazz. I *think* I know why it's mono. Will change it up next week and see if we can get back to moving in stereo.

Brings me back to Berne playing at the old Knitting Factory on Houston. Some great sets there, especially the Ornette tribute band with John Zorn. Ahhhh....
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:18am

Gotta get ready, going to the Jets game with my teen daughter in a bit (they MUST win today!).
Catch up in the archives, great day, all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am
Jeff Golick:

J-E-T-S! Thanks for being here, @doctorjazz, and go big green.

Last comment. (I know, promises, promises), but loving this Westerlies as well, not a name I'm familiar with, have to check this album out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am
Jeff Golick:

You'll dig it, I think @drj. Their previous is also great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am

This should get everyone in a shopping mood.

This very record was recorded at Mills, five years after Payne joined the faculty.

Thanks, @glenn. Same to you. This Mets fan is happy enough.

Not sure why Bowie's voice is so down in the mix; I blame my set-up.

Dean:

Hrrrm. Tried to pledge $20, then $25, one time. Both efforts generated error message: This value seems to be invalid. I checked the "No thanks" swag box...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @Dean. I'm a bit in the dark, but suspect it's due to some issues at the mothership. I guess stand down for now and there's a lot of month left, so...
