Anybody else think it unfair that Muuro got a year + a half as mascot, but Dusty only a little over a year? I guess when they had the original contest, they weren't thinking about making it a recurring thing.

I liked WF-MU-QK! (the duck) best, both for the clever photo idea and her being a duck (as in Hour Of...).

Wikipedia:

While singing some jingles in the studio in early 1977, she caught the attention of former Bloodrock vocalist Jim Rutledge who introduced her to music producer Boomer Castleman. Wilson began recording for his BNA Records label and recorded a song, "Telephone Man", the story of a woman and her amorous adventures with her telephone technician, filled with suggestive lyrics and her breathy squealing voice. The song became a surprise hit single, climbing the UK Singles Chart to #6, spending ten weeks in the listings, as well as making it to #18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. It became a gold record, selling over one million copies in the U.S. alone.

I, for one, don't need to know any more.

Owen "Boomer" Castleman was half of Boomer and Travis. Travis was Michael Murphey...of "Wildfire" and cowboy nonsense. They were also the braintrust behind the band The Lewis & Clark Expedition. They also did "Fowl Owl on the Prowl" for the film "In the Heat of the Night." It was a replacement song for Sam the Sham's "Little Red Riding Hood" which was used for the diner scene...when the rights couldn't be cleared.

Some producer did not undersatand that Russel did not read notes and hired him to a session with complicated scores, that somehow aped Russels improvising style. he did not understand that one can play sophisticated stuff but cannot read.
