Listener comments!

  6:04am Jonesey:

Good Morning!
  6:06am Raymond Jones:

Right back at ya, Mr. Jones!
Avatar 6:07am the Canterbury wood-elf:

i loved this Fixx track as a teenager when it came out. Still stands up well after all these years (compared to a lot of the chart stuff from the time). It's got a serious atmosphere, brings back those early 80s cold war paranoia vibes! Does anyone else remember thinking we were all going to imminently die in a nuclear war?
Avatar 6:08am Sem Chumbo:

Hello, Your Honour, and good morning. The Mayor business good?
Avatar 6:10am Tidepoolbay:

Good Morning Jonesy! Gail & Philip have you on and are going to work.
Avatar 6:11am dfb:

@canterbury - yes but i feel that still lol
Avatar 6:11am dfb:

morning all !
Avatar 6:14am PsychopathJimFields:

Good Morning, Your Eminence!!!!!
Was washing off the lather when Neon Rainbow came on and I though, Wow, I haven't seen a neon rainbow since I stopped doing acid.
A little traffic in Brooklyn, a little out on Long Island, nothing serious in NJ, so let's get to it!!!!!
Have a happy day!!!!!
  6:14am Raymond Jones:

What's that stain he keeps talking about? How disgusting!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15am ausmanx:

canterbury, it was in the air for sure, but i prefer the Fischer-Z stuff, and their album was Red Skies Over Paradise, interestingly. but they were blunter, more political, and "Misslies" is great. it's a shame that they seem to have faded so much from view...
  6:23am Schnipp:

Morning troops. Greetings and salutations from western union county, New Jersey USA. Some of us log in to work from home at 6am, but yesterday totally forgot about this weeklong acid trip.
  6:24am hawkeye:

Heyyyyyyyyy hey the cucumbers
  6:26am noel:

no bummers on this trip
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31am CoffeeBluez:

A good morn to you all.
  6:33am Clïff in Prägůe:

Hey everybody, it's my last week in Prague for a while
  6:35am noel:

"Slap some bacon on a biscuit and let's go! We're burnin' daylight! "
  6:36am Jonesey:

Hey Noel. That's How the CBS morning show used to start--where is the quote from?
  6:38am noel:

John Wayne war movie
  6:40am Jonesey:

Cool, thanks.
  6:40am noel:

gave up on CBS when the put Scott Shannon on to replace Dan Taylor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44am CoffeeBluez:

Thanks for playing the King Mr. Mayor.
  6:45am noel:

Fischer-Zed's For So Long intro was stolen by the Go Go's Our Lips Are Sealed.
  6:47am noel:

Maybe a "mindbender" Jonesey?
  6:56am Ken:

Morning everybody
Avatar Wake Supporter Hellraiser 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:01am Threemoons:

Morning. Email checked; about to hop into the shower to the background sounds of the WoofMoo! Hopefully my temp gig will forget to block the Internet again today so I can tune in from work.
  7:01am noel:

Fill Your Heart by Biff Rose was on the original vinyl Pin-Ups instead of Growin' Up.
Avatar Wake Supporter Hellraiser 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:02am Threemoons:

PS any idea when the Swag for Life badge thingy will be fixed?
  7:05am Cooh John:

G-g-good mornin'. One eye open.
Avatar 7:07am dfb:

  7:07am hawkeye:

Grimsby 4 lyfe
  7:08am Rhinovirus:

Greetings, all! I've got a question (or two) concerning the music industry and music radio, and if anyone can answer it (them), I'd be most grateful. It's a question which has been keeping me up nights for quite some time. So here goes...

When a song is played on the radio, how much is the royalty payment? Is it different for each artist? Is there an average amount, a standard royalty rate, or do the more successful bands/artists like The Beatles and Elvis command a higher rate than the others? Any info will really be appreciated! Thanks!
  7:09am Jonesey:

You got it Hawkeye. Nice Catch. Grimsby was the coolest!
  7:16am Cooh John:

Both eyes open and fading into Mazzy Star.
  7:16am Alice Formato:

Good Morning Glen:)
  7:17am Clïff in Prägůe:

<3 Mazzy Star
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17am -Ken:

Just fixed your Swag for Life badge Threemoons. It will take another few weeks before we can fix everybodys at once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22am Fuzzy:

Oh boy -- flair!
  7:23am Jonesey:

Good morning Alice.
Avatar 7:23am dfb:

this would pair nicely with that accoustic version of number of beast by zwan *(that guy from the pumpkins)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am -Ken:

@Rhinovirus - the quick answers are: only songwriters get royalties for FM radio play in the US and huge songwriters get the same rate as everybody else. There are bills in congress to change this, to add FM royalties for record labels and performers as well. More questions, email me.
  7:25am Schnipp:

Whoa -- Thought Glen had it in for Patti somehow. Unsure I've ever heard you play her before.
  7:27am Schnipp:

"This is the era where,
Everybody creates."

Truer words.
  7:42am TFHackett:

Good morning Mayor, good morning everyone!

Avatar Wake Supporter Hellraiser 2022 Swag For Life Member 7:44am Threemoons:

And yeah, where else can I hear Marvin Gaye and the Dead Milkmen in the course of my morning grooming routine? Love you bigtime.
  7:50am Rhinovirus:

Thank you so much, Ken, for taking the time to answer my questions -- I really appreciate your help. I find the whole subject of music TV, music radio and royalties quite interesting, but specific, accurate information is hard to find... Thanks again, Ken!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57am Ken From Hyde Park:

Good morning, Mayor Jonesey and members of the common council! I trust the office is focused on fixing all those potholes!
  8:00am JakeGould:

So the heart/radio for “Swag 4 Life” is fixed?
Avatar 8:02am Jess_in_Nola:
