Richard McGraw and friends live on WFMU

Live Performance by Richard McGraw with Matt Kanelos and Ben Sadock">

The album "How To Suffer" by Richard McGraw was a favorite of Irene's this past year. McGraw's music is lushly orchestrated, capturing just the tiniest wink of his eye, with mournful tunes on such subjects as the loss of love, youth, comfort, joy and, ultimately, life. Richard McGraw performed some of those tunes live with his band on WFMU.

If it's the recording I'm thinking of, I believe I had a hand in recording it. He was on my show several times quite a while ago.

Irene Trudel:

Ah, Herb, nice meeting you on Sunday at Marissa Nadler's show. Unfortunately I have to miss Mark at Monty Hall. I'm working that night. I'm sure it'll be great.

DJ E:

Irene, it says 2001, and asks "Why isn't this record in every store in the land???"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm
Irene Trudel:

Well, he never officially released it. The album was sold at Mark's shows for a while until he ran out.
  9:32pm
DJ E:

Yeah, the review mentioned that fact.

Yeeeeears ago, MEitzel did free solo show at housingworks book cafe. I arrive and go to bathroom; ME is in my way. He says to me "you need the bathroom? Why don't you just pee on me?". That has a couple of meanings. (Irene not at Eitzel show? I guess I'll stay home and do laundry)
