Seven Second Delay with Andy and Ken: Playlist from August 9, 2017

August 9, 2017: Éncore édition: Panhandling on the L Train, from May 2013

Ken and Andy prepare to have a panhandle-off on the L train. Whoever can beg for the most money between stops on the train wins.

During the buildup to the main event, both Ken and Andy are nearly overcome with bouts of extreme nervousness, dread, and soul searching as they contemplate the task ahead. Ken is afraid of being arrested and is embarrassed by his freakishly old age; Andy is afraid of being lynched and ponders what went wrong in his life. But they must go through with it because everybody is looking forward to it.

The pair meet a young homeless woman named Tesla and her dog Kilo outside the train station, and they use her as their panhandling consultant.

When the time finally comes, Ken goes with the strategy of honesty (begging for WFMU) and Andy begs for money to see The Great Gatsby. Ken wins with $2 to Andy's $0. Ken donates his winnings to Tesla.
