So which side a company chooses says something about which of those they prioritize. It's unsurprising that paternalistic German engineers make the decision for the owner. After all, the manual for my German car explained how the climate-control system could be set for whatever temperature we might want... but then pointed out what the one truly CORRECT and RECOMMENDED temperature was.
