@geezerette, this is the first time I'm playing some of my own recordings and it's honestly a little surreal. I bought a new recorder and was using these binaural microphones so it's actually the sound that went into my ears that's played back, more or less..
Yeah, these are 5 separate locations/dates/times etc, mixed together. It probably helps that they're all recorded on the same equipment with the same head
I transitioned to some not-mine recordings so not positive of the birds on this one. He wrote about these bird sounds: This is the sound story of a grove at the end of the winter that resonates from the next soon spring. The birds feeling safe come here to sleep every night for several days and wake up in a myriad of songs and screams in the early morning.
jesse, i forgot to mention! i loved that vincent duseigne field recording you played from a few weeks back of the train station in amiens, france so much that i posted it to my facebook. kenzo from ken's last ever radio extravaganza happened to stumble upon it there, and his most recent episode was dedicated to over 100 of vincent duseigne's field recordings--mixed and looped and strung together--including the one you played. the result was pretty magical, and it was all thanks to you! :')
hey gloomsday, that's so cool! That was really such a nice piece with the piano in that space, such a great moment in space. He actually has a piece on that Matins de France that I almost played!
the piano combined with the mundane bustle of the train station totally shook me, haha. i'm super stoked to dive in to more of vincent's work, too. thanks for sharing the love, doing what you do, etc., etc.!
Das Ding's been around since the 80's but I'm not sure he released anything between like 1985 and 2009. Then just started back up again with some great sounds all of a sudden, at least it seems that way from here
