howdy, neighbors! sad i missed the first 45 minutes :( i got in a gnarly car accident two days ago and was getting a rental taken care of so i could be mobile again. eesh, what a racket. desperately needing neighbors noise this week for some peace.
such a nightmare. i think i was on the phone with insurance, towing, and rental companies, plus the police department, for 4 hours yesterday. i wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, haha. but! listening to NN is as always very relaxing :) i can basically feel the tension melting off my shoulders. thank you so much for this!
@gloomsday; Two months ago, I had someone slam on their brakes at a merging lane when there was no traffic. I was going 1-2 kmph, (I came to a complete stop, and my manual transmission car lurched w/ inertia). There was no damage to either vehicle, but the woman insisted on calling the cops. I took pics. Two hours later the cops arrived (she didn't even know which jurisdiction cops she callled_). She came out to look at my license plate, and when the cops arrived, she asked for an ambulance. The cop told her it would be 30-40 mins, and she was suddenly fine. The cop still gave me a citation, which I have to go to court, but pretty much told me he'd would support my evidence. Even her insurance company was happy w/ my photographic evidence. So, I have to show up at court for a vehicle interaction that never was. (she also told my insurance company that she was going to see a doctor, 6 weeks after the event, bit had yet to).
So, to make a short story long and boring, (wait ,what were we talking about?!!)
thankfully, gloomsday is physically healthy and ok, and I can't imagine the BS you have to go through w/ this ordeal. Salud todos!
Jesse who's art? and when's it from, do you know? the one with the cars makes me think it was created in the 1960s-70s - when one out of every 7 cars on the road was a vw beetle.
(making that statistic up)
At least I have no damage fix on my car or the other person's, but going to court is still a half of vacation day I won't get back. (And I worked until 9:30 that night to make up for the time I missed waiting for the cops).
Your ordeal is infinite times worse then mine! Cthuluspeed!
i dunno about that, northguineahills! i had two witnesses immediately approach me after the accident and inform me that they would make statements to ensure i was not at fault, one of which had a dashcam for further proof. the driver who smashed into my side admitted full fault and it's been relatively straightforward as far as insurance claims go. your incident sounds so maddening i want to scream.
i once was broadsided in the left lane by someone coming out between 2 cars standing in the right lane. the cop refused to give the other driver a ticket of any sort.
my hair was to my ass, my girlfriend's was past hers; she wore all black leather and i probably really ripped jeans; i drove a rotting 1964 volvo 164...the other car, a brand new nissan 280z, was also driven by a male with a female in the passenger seat; 2 very clean, tidy and obedient teenagers.
he not getting a ticket resulted in me having to sue in court bullshit, and my gf, who was injured, having to sue my insurance company.
what a stupid game.
good idea! :) i was already an anxious driver before this, so i'll take whatever talismans or good luck anyone is willing to lend me. also this art is super neat! i will have to check out his work.
