Happy Birthday Keef!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12am pacific standard simon:

Is it safe to come out this week?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14am pacific standard simon:

You have to play at least one Kieth vocal. Happy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15am Fuzzy:

Little T+A! Yes?
  3:15am markr:

It is if you like the Stones (only through "Exile," of course.) Stay tuned to see if one of your favorites turns up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18am pacific standard simon:

Ringo is still older. Go figure.
  3:19am markr:

Who's older--Ringo or Bill Wyman?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19am pacific standard simon:

Wyman, you're right.
  3:20am markr:

That was actually a question--I wasn't sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25am pacific standard simon:

I have one of those books that says who played what on all Stones tracks, so if you have a question, just ask.
Avatar 3:32am Scraps:

Is it three hours of Stones?
  3:37am Kurt cobain:

we're sic and contagious but u voted for a female bitch in heet Kel kek neo naxis 4 trump
  3:38am markr:

Just one hour of Stones, Scraps, then we're gonna diversify.
Avatar 3:38am Steve B.:

Color is tough on these old eyes! Love the Stones tunes! Need some Neil Young counterpoint I think. Merry Christmas, Mark, and everyone!
  3:39am markr:

Merry Christmas, Steve. Don't have any Neil planned for tonight, but his new album, "Hitchhiker," made up of old early 70's recordings, is really great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39am pacific standard simon:

I have a lot of Brian slides and Mick Taylor solos in my memory banks, so I have to sort this stuff out while listening.
  3:39am trolls 4 truth:

the boardwalk Empire is fallin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40am pacific standard simon:

There we go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43am pacific standard simon:

Rock'n'roll Circus was the closest we ever got to a Beatles/Stones jam, I guess.
  3:45am markr:

That's OK, they were better separately, probably. There's a story in one of those books (maybe Ronnie Wood's?) about a jam with Keith and John in the 70s, with a lot of drugs.
  3:47am neo nazi is deogratory:

national alliance of socialist workers party if u please..i heard mossad picked up our queer boi toy HITLER...blurred lines.pontius Pilate..what is truth
Avatar 3:48am Steve B.:

Thanks for the recommendation. Love early Neil Y. Will look into getting the album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50am pacific standard simon:

Ya-Ya's was a major introductory drug for me. I'd heard their singles on the AM radio for years, but never bought any of the albums until then.
  3:50am markr:

Let's give a shout-out to Stu for the boogie boogie piano on "Little Queenie", shall we?
  3:50am debt collector:

Love from Burlington VT
No keef solo stuff?!
  3:52am the Oracle:

tell ken Smith I'm here to disturb the equilibrium..blocking mi is necessary net neutrality or otherwise either way we're screwed...ur smarter then me we need a plan
  3:52am markr:

"Run Run Rudolph" was solo Keef. But I know what you mean, "Main Offender" and "Talk Is Cheap" both had some great songs on them, but I was only doing an hour, and there were too many great Stones songs, I didn't want to bump, say, "Tumblin' Dice" for one of those Keef songs. Love his solo stuff, though. Much more than Mick's.
  3:54am debt collector:

What’s the over under on keef making it to 80?
  3:55am markr:

I stopped betting against Keef in the 70s.
  3:56am dum as fuc:

the thing you luv about that period of r.stoned stones is their rebellion...rise up and take beck back the internet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57am pacific standard simon:

Ian Stewart was awesome. I'm sorry there isn't more of him on record.
  3:57am debt collector:

Where is he seen these days?
  3:59am markr:

Ian Stewart passed away in 1985, unfortunately.
  4:00am bye bye:

just dropping some am. thoughts(didn't have enuf tequila 2 render mi unconscious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00am pacific standard simon:

I know. I bet that's a more complicated story than the official one.
  4:10am street fighting man:

I rail against corptopcracies screaming revolution...well what can a poor boi do said the same r&r man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13am Fuzzy:

Fun Fact: The Smithereens "Blues Before And After" has never been played on WFMU!
  4:15am your thought here:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16am pacific standard simon:

Also Sam Houston Andrews III, a personal idol. Big Brother and The Holding Company.
Avatar 4:24am Sem:

Hello and good morning, Mark, all.

Happy Birthday, Keith. He once said Mick was rock, he was roll.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28am Yvang:

The thing that Michael Jackson borrowed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28am pacific standard simon:

Bill Nelson, of Be Bop Deluxe. A band that never lived up to their name.
  4:28am markr:

Welcome, Sem!
  4:29am insulted rolling stones fans:

we used 2 be a relevant band in the late 60's early 70's then the only song that was decent was the 1 about killin zombies when we crashed in the swamps of Louisiana...upon further inquiry we found out the most deadly swamp is Langley Virginia..if something is good enuf 2 live 4 then it's also good enuf 2 die for..e pluribus enum
Avatar 4:31am BEAVO:

Vincent also played That’s great and memorable guitar part on Diamonds on the soles of her shoes.
Avatar 4:32am Sem:

Ah, Beavo. Forgotten about that, thanks!
  4:33am swamp:

is Langley Virginia..if something is good enuf 2 live 4 then it's it's good enuf 2 die 4...hear the call use social media and DESTROY the status quo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33am pacific standard simon:

ARgh, it's Michael Moorcock's birthday! I guess you could play some Hawkwind or Blue Oyster Cult, or that one solo album he did in the 70s.

Gangster Computer God Worldwide Secret Containment Policy made possible solely by Worldwide Computer God Frankenstein Controls. Especially lifelong constant-threshold Brainwash Radio. Quiet and motionless, I can slightly hear it. Repeatedly this has saved my life on the streets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39am pacific standard simon:

Harold Land's birthday, too.
  4:41am markr:

I appreciate all of your comments, even the ones I don't understand.
  4:42am markr:

It's a rich day for birthdays, too many to cover them all, unfortunately, especially when important musicians kept dying this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57am pacific standard simon:

You have been listening to way too much Sunday morning GTDS programming.
  4:59am markr:

Ha! Actually I haven't--it's a tribute to drummer Sunny Murray!
  4:59am markr:

Anyway, I'll take that as a compliment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01am pacific standard simon:

Yeah, I know. Just funnin' ya.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03am pacific standard simon:

I love this song! On my list for karaoke.
  5:03am cowfriend:

good morning! thanks for the tunes, friend.
  5:07am markr:

Good choice, Simon. Welcome, cowfriend.

The golden days of bootlegs, when they were broadcast over the FM airwaves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21am pacific standard simon:

Say "Hi" to Clay Pigeon, if you see him; I might survive until his show.
  5:24am markr:

Only a half-hour to go--hang in there, man!
Avatar 5:33am BEAVO:

NOTBITH Goes through the Remain in Light tour with Adrian Belew 1980.
Avatar 5:33am Scraps:

The Name of This Band is Talking Heads was great, but when it was transferred to CD with several extra songs, it was just awesome. Yes, MUCH better than Stop Making Sense, a crippled soundtrack from (of course) a great movie.
Avatar 5:34am BEAVO:

Louie and Keeley!
  5:35am Brad:

GREAT show! Did you hear that Ralph Carney unfortunately passed away a couple of days ago as well? All my San Fran pals are super shocked and bummed....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36am pacific standard simon:

I loved Keely Smith! The online obit showed her smiling, which she never did when she was performing.
Avatar 5:37am Scraps:

The next time you listen to TNOTBITH, listen to Tina Weymouth. She’s just great.
  5:45am Whitty *8;~>:

MarkR...want to get a smile out of Clay(see)
call him "Skelbo" he likes
this Nik name alot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am pacific standard simon:

Shit. Ralph Carney's dead? Life sucks. He was one of my heroes, and a contemporary
Avatar 5:49am Scraps:

Creamo Coyl played one of the tracks of Ralph Carney’s underrated solo album as tribute. Even if he was only on the one Tin Huey album, I would remember him fondly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51am pacific standard simon:

Yezh, Herbie scrubbed his back with the flute.
  5:54am Whitty *8;~>:

Great show Mark R. ...nice and interesting choices...maybe play some Delores Telescope?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am pacific standard simon:

I saw Carney go nuts on the reeds more than once.
  6:00am Scotty C from Tennessee:

Morning all!
  6:00am markr:

Stay tuned for Professor Pigeon, everyone. Be safe out there, you guys! Retail establishments are to be avoided if possible. See you on Christmas morning!
  6:01am Scotty C from Tennessee:

Good Monday to all!
  6:02am Scotty C from Tennessee:

Happy happy Monday Monday!!
  6:08am Dez:

Good morning, all. One more week of work before holiday vacation, hope you all have some time off.
