It might help that I wasn't musically aware when it came out, but sometime, almost 20 years ago, I went through a classic rock stage. I even dj'ed classic rock (even at Tonic). As Dj Olive told me, I'm appropriately inappropriate, but genuinely like everything I play/like (something I like about UM).

	11:23pm Dean: Scraps, You can do Indian food on your own with produce from TJs. Chicken/curry/ginger/garlic/broth/rice/peas/potatoes/cinnamon/nutmeg...trust me, it's good.
	11:28pm Scraps: I do that occasionally. But it’s hard to cook one-handed (my right side is paralyzed)
	11:32pm Scraps: (and it’s hard to keep the kitchen equipped, and hard to keep up basic foodstuffs..... it’s much easier to “cook” instantly, I’m afraid. I miss cooking, but this way I have more time listening to music!)
	11:34pm Sam Segal: Scraps, estimating conservatively, I have probably eaten 59,000 TJ's Lamb Vindaloos in my life. Big fan over here!

	11:40pm Scraps: When I lived in New York, I estimate one-third of my cuisine was Indian. And vindaloo was hands-down my favorite. Trader Joe’s is actually okay, for a microwave. Tasty. Not hot enough, but I knew that going in (sigh...)
	♥ 11:40pm coelacanth∅: big fan of tj's frozen palak paneer. and the fish korma is not bad. (better than expected with low expectations) the sauce is very good. the fish, though okay, kind of detracts from it.

	11:43pm Dean: I like to cook, and I do so often. My 90YO mother, who once loved to cook, isn't quite able to do so anymore. I try to supply her with TJ frozen and fresh dishes, e.g., beef Bourgoinone.
	11:44pm Scraps: @Dean: yeah. :-) I didn’t know how many things that were much harder to impossible one-handed. Chopping, just to take one simple one.

	♥ 11:45pm coelacanth∅: i don't eat lamb, but i wish to taste vindaloo, because someone who meant a whole lot to me's surname was (not spelled, but pronounced correctly as) "vindaloo".
	11:47pm Dean: Vindaloo isn't necessarily lamb, though that's one of the best. I think it means simply "very very hot." You could do a chicken or pork vindaloo, too.
	11:49pm Dean: I recall dining at an Indian restaurant, west side Los Angeles, where I was asked how hot I wanted my dish. I was offered an 11--pre-Spinal Tap, mind you--and I accepted. It was HEAVEN.
	11:49pm Scraps: Yeah, for some reason, Lamb Vindaloo rules the roost, but you can make any meat vindaloo
	♥ 11:51pm coelacanth∅: -not that i like the idea of you risking getting injured by a knife; but i'm imagining some kind of cutting board with clips on it of different sizes and tensions -so you could shove a veggie or whatever under the edge of the clip to hold it so you could chop it.
	11:51pm Dean: 1976, first trip to London, rain was dumping as we arrived at the hotel. We headed out to a restaurant for a badly needed meal before bed. Indian. I had Saag Ghost, i.e., lamb with spinach and curry. My first taste of Indian. Glorious.
	11:55pm Scraps: coel, there are contraptions for one-handed people in the kitchen, and I have some of them. Mostly they’re expensive, but sometimes they turn a job from impossible to doable

It might help that I wasn't musically aware when it came out, but sometime, almost 20 years ago, I went through a classic rock stage. I even dj'ed classic rock (even at Tonic). As Dj Olive told me, I'm appropriately inappropriate, but genuinely like everything I play/like (something I like about UM).

	11:47pm Dean: Vindaloo isn't necessarily lamb, though that's one of the best. I think it means simply "very very hot." You could do a chicken or pork vindaloo, too.
	11:49pm Dean: I recall dining at an Indian restaurant, west side Los Angeles, where I was asked how hot I wanted my dish. I was offered an 11--pre-Spinal Tap, mind you--and I accepted. It was HEAVEN.

	11:51pm Dean: 1976, first trip to London, rain was dumping as we arrived at the hotel. We headed out to a restaurant for a badly needed meal before bed. Indian. I had Saag Ghost, i.e., lamb with spinach and curry. My first taste of Indian. Glorious.
	11:55pm Scraps: coel, there are contraptions for one-handed people in the kitchen, and I have some of them. Mostly they’re expensive, but sometimes they turn a job from impossible to doable
