I should be clear: I really like aspects of BAI,and much of the opinion they present needs hearing. Their year-end "Shortcuts" programmes helped me understand what radio could do. Their science-fiction shows were bulwarks of my youth, and their broadcasts of old radio shows and their re-creations a great introduction for me.

Still, this year I've been avoiding them, since there's the irritatingness about them, plus I remember that listening too much KPFA the first couple of Reagan Presidency years drove me close to suicidal.
