wish i had a decent sound system for this!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm
melinda:

UM same here
Avatar 8:53pm
northguineahills:

I haven't even hooked my normal hi-fi system (just decent five inch speakers). The missus wants me to get newer smaller speakers w/ an added sub to replace my cabinet speakers I've had since I was an undergrad. She might be on to something. (they're still in my closet w/ the rest of my soundsystem).

I glanced over the swag list earlier today. Uncle Michael seems to have made quite the splash. I'll be forgoing swag this year, but I tip my hat to UM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
Uncle Michael:

A splash, Brian?
Avatar 9:01pm

@UM: Yep. An exclamatory splash, if I remember.

ngh @8.53 there's something to that, small speakers with a big sound for a reasonable price. good for someone like myself who does not own a house...i only offer that wisdom to others though -not myself, who's planning to replace the passive radiators in my hardwood cabinets - now that i know firsthand the bass deficiencies of a denon a/v amplifier. (which i did expect when i bought it)
...at least no one will take them if my house gets robbed.
Avatar 9:38pm
northguineahills:

@coel: Yeah, I'm leaning in that direction, as my old cabinet speakers are bulky and take up much space. But, I'm still saving up for real furniture first (The missus admonished me on my cheap thrift store furniture and picked out what I need when I visited, and made a CAD drawing of my house to show me how everything should look. Then she bought me a bed) Yes, my house looks like it's inhabited by a 20-year old bachelor, even though I'm twice that age (I'm never home anyways).
Avatar 9:48pm
northguineahills:

Good to see Tresor is still kicking it! (Why am I still at work).?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm
coelacanth∅:

haha i imagine if i had a wife (& children?) my dwelling wouldn't look all that different. i like antiques and don't want to see ugly furniture; but i also like funny or interesting adornments...and lots & lots of string lights. (not for novelty but for hot spot-less light)
Avatar 9:59pm
northguineahills:

Thanks Jesse

@coel: well, I went fully broke almost two years ago, and I don't like accepting money from anyone, including my wife.
