I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Your picture reminds me: I was born in Washington state, one state north from Oregon. Every time I visit Oregon -- used to be often, when my older sister lived there -- I took a small box and filled it with Oregon soil, and then dumped it my Seattle garden. The box was labeled "Oregon Accumulator".

My girlfriend at the time solemnly helped me with my stupid obscure joke. I still like her, not least for that.

Good afternoon Mayuko, my radio brother Scraps, and listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm

Afternoon, Mayuko, Scraps, fred, and all!
That box has the Reich stuff!
@Scraps: LOL!!

Hello, Mayuko, punster Scraps, fred, and ljfw. Good afternoon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm
fred:

Haruomi Hosono! I've been listening to some YMO this week
Avatar 12:10pm
Mayuko:

I love that Scraps! That sounds more useful apparatus than Orgone box in the sense it actually makes people happy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm
listener james from westwood:

Looking at the bottom picture of the open box. It does have air holes, right?
Avatar 12:11pm
Hams:

i could use a orgone energy accumulator right about now. suppose i'll just make an espresso instead.
Avatar 12:11pm
Mayuko:

Welcome, my new radio family member fred! You'd always been like a family here anyway, but!
Avatar 12:12pm

Good afternoon to you too, james! Welcome, Sem!
Avatar 12:14pm
Hams:

mayuko, have you ever seen PARADISE VIEW w/ jun togawa and haruomi hosono? it's fantastic. saw it at japan society a while back w/ some friends. hosono scores it as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm

Yay Vertigo!
Avatar 12:17pm
Mayuko:

Welcome on board, Hams! Man! I had Paradise View soundtrack CD when I was a child. I SOOOO wanted to watch the movie since it described it in the booklet. I had no idea who Jun Togawa was then, though. and I had no access to the film, I still haven't. I wonder now that it's the internet age, maybe I have a better chance finding it?!?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm
fred:

@Hams: Wasn't Jun Togawa involved in Yapoos? I remember liking some of that project's songs, though I don't have any record
Avatar 12:18pm
Mayuko:

@james I sure hope there are air holes, otherwise people can go straight to heaven from there!? Not fun!
Avatar 12:18pm

Good afternoon, DOUG!!!

I got here at a decent time!

So, are we doing a Wilhelm Reich themed show?

I love this Roland Young album title!
Avatar 12:21pm
Hams:

ah, neat, i'll have to find the soundtrack. yep, there's got to be some download torrent thing out there somewhere; i'm not too savvy at such things, though. my friends probably have it. it's a really fun watch.
Avatar 12:22pm
Scraps (scraps):

Hello my radio family fred & Mayuko! Hello hello people! Whew. Sem, I'm not usually a punster -- or at least, I want a pun that plays on the sound in at least two ways (i.e., a joke), not a one-dimensional hey-this-word-sounds-like-this-other-word punning.
Avatar 12:23pm
Hams:

fred, yes, yapoos, her band. "daddy the heaven" is quite the hit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

This doesn't sound like Hawkwind's rendition of "Orgone Accumulator."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
fred:

@Ken FHP: was Lemmy still in the band at that time?
Avatar 12:29pm
Mayuko:

@Hams Think I've played something from that soundtrack before in my show. It's really nice re-interpretation of Okinawa music morphing into minimal music. I'm not a resident of torrent world either. Maybe I need to rob Japan Society next time I'm in the city.
Avatar 12:31pm
Mayuko:

@Ken haha! I thought of playing that song for a second, then just quietly put that idea back into the drawer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm

Good call, Mayuko, especially if that mean finding time for Fossil Aerosol Mining Project

For a while in high school I was hanging out with metalhead bikers. We'd be drinking beers and smoking joints while listening to early Metallica. But nobody complained when Kate Bush came on the playlist, which was a regular thing

Is there a deckchair version of this ORAC?

There was a BBC sci-fi series called Blake's Seven in the early Eighties, in it there was a powerful computer called Orac.

Hi melinda!

@Sam just because I heard Jeff Mills brandnew stuff on Neighbor's Noise this past Tuesday! But also should be appropriate since Wilhelm Reich was capable of shooting UFOs in addition to all the other great things he did, I think?!?! Some universe feel needed!
