I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Scraps (scraps):

Your picture reminds me: I was born in Washington state, one state north from Oregon. Every time I visit Oregon -- used to be often, when my older sister lived there -- I took a small box and filled it with Oregon soil, and then dumped it my Seattle garden. The box was labeled "Oregon Accumulator".

My girlfriend at the time solemnly helped me with my stupid obscure joke. I still like her, not least for that.
Avatar 12:00pm fred:

Good afternoon Mayuko, my radio brother Scraps, and listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm listener james from westwood:

Afternoon, Mayuko, Scraps, fred, and all!
That box has the Reich stuff!
@Scraps: LOL!!
Avatar 12:03pm Sem:

Hello, Mayuko, punster Scraps, fred, and ljfw. Good afternoon.
Avatar 12:06pm fred:

Haruomi Hosono! I've been listening to some YMO this week
Avatar 12:10pm Mayuko:

I love that Scraps! That sounds more useful apparatus than Orgone box in the sense it actually makes people happy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm listener james from westwood:

Looking at the bottom picture of the open box. It does have air holes, right?
Avatar 12:11pm Hams:

i could use a orgone energy accumulator right about now. suppose i'll just make an espresso instead.
Avatar 12:11pm Mayuko:

Welcome, my new radio family member fred! You'd always been like a family here anyway, but!
Avatar 12:12pm Mayuko:

Good afternoon to you too, james! Welcome, Sem!
Avatar 12:14pm Hams:

mayuko, have you ever seen PARADISE VIEW w/ jun togawa and haruomi hosono? it's fantastic. saw it at japan society a while back w/ some friends. hosono scores it as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Doug Schulkind:

Yay Vertigo!
Avatar 12:17pm Mayuko:

Welcome on board, Hams! Man! I had Paradise View soundtrack CD when I was a child. I SOOOO wanted to watch the movie since it described it in the booklet. I had no idea who Jun Togawa was then, though. and I had no access to the film, I still haven't. I wonder now that it's the internet age, maybe I have a better chance finding it?!?!
Avatar 12:17pm fred:

@Hams: Wasn't Jun Togawa involved in Yapoos? I remember liking some of that project's songs, though I don't have any record
Avatar 12:18pm Mayuko:

@james I sure hope there are air holes, otherwise people can go straight to heaven from there!? Not fun!
Avatar 12:18pm Mayuko:

Good afternoon, DOUG!!!
Avatar 12:19pm northguineahills:

I got here at a decent time!

So, are we doing a Wilhelm Reich themed show?
Avatar 12:19pm Mayuko:

@ngh somewhat. glad to have you here!
Avatar 12:19pm northguineahills:

*scrolls back up* I guess we are!
Avatar 12:20pm northguineahills:

I love this Roland Young album title!
Avatar 12:21pm Hams:

ah, neat, i'll have to find the soundtrack. yep, there's got to be some download torrent thing out there somewhere; i'm not too savvy at such things, though. my friends probably have it. it's a really fun watch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Scraps (scraps):

Hello my radio family fred & Mayuko! Hello hello people! Whew. Sem, I'm not usually a punster -- or at least, I want a pun that plays on the sound in at least two ways (i.e., a joke), not a one-dimensional hey-this-word-sounds-like-this-other-word punning.
Avatar 12:23pm Hams:

fred, yes, yapoos, her band. "daddy the heaven" is quite the hit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Ken From Hyde Park:

This doesn't sound like Hawkwind's rendition of "Orgone Accumulator."
Avatar 12:26pm fred:

@Ken FHP: was Lemmy still in the band at that time?
Avatar 12:29pm Mayuko:

@Hams Think I've played something from that soundtrack before in my show. It's really nice re-interpretation of Okinawa music morphing into minimal music. I'm not a resident of torrent world either. Maybe I need to rob Japan Society next time I'm in the city.
Avatar 12:31pm Mayuko:

@Ken haha! I thought of playing that song for a second, then just quietly put that idea back into the drawer.
Avatar 12:33pm fred:

Good call, Mayuko, especially if that mean finding time for Fossil Aerosol Mining Project
Avatar 12:33pm nairb:

hello everyone! hello Mayuko! lovely listening to this music with you all today and in weeks past, live and archived.
Avatar 12:35pm Sem:

@fred: seems Lemmy still had the HAWKWIND lifting him up where he belonged for Orgone. en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar 12:35pm Mayuko:

Glad to have you here, nairb! Thank you for tuning in!
Avatar 12:36pm fred:

"Okinawa music morphing into minimal music?" I guess I have something to put on my still inexistent wish list
Avatar 12:37pm northguineahills:

Modebau, new to me, and thanks to you and Daniel!
Avatar 12:47pm Mayuko:

Thank YOU for your support for the station, ngh!
Avatar 12:47pm david w:

Hi, Mayuko and all! Charles Dodge, wow what a flashback for me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Jаson:

Re: Paradise View. Hope this isn't frowned on: click on my profile, personal statement (but only for 24 hours).
Avatar 12:48pm northguineahills:

Charls Dodge!

of course Mayuko, whenever I'm able.
Avatar 12:48pm Mayuko:

Good afternoon, david w! Great to have you here! Hopefully it's a good memory flashbacking??
Avatar 12:50pm Mayuko:

@Jason the link seems to be not working for me? I'd love to see it!
Avatar 12:51pm david w:

Dodge was intimidating, though inspiring, when I was a student at U of Illinois working in electronic music studios and struggling with programming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Jаson:

Delete the space after the http:// - just a bit cautious about leaving active link there.
Avatar 12:53pm Hams:

yes, a film heist at japan society; shouldn't be too tough to get in. yeah, says the movie was filmed almost entirely in Okinawan dialect.
Avatar 12:54pm northguineahills:

Avatar 12:56pm northguineahills:

We need to see the further adventures of Moondog!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm listener james from westwood:

Excellent way to look at these groups!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm listener james from westwood:

William S. Burroughs was an orgone box user. Swore there was something to Reich for quite a while.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The bed music today is a lovely experience.
Avatar 1:05pm Brian in UK:

Hello Mayuko and sensation seekers.
  1:08pm Stepchild:

Hey Mayuko. I’m here, but I usually only lurk except at Marathon time, because I’m listening from an Amazon Alexa thing not my phone or pc. Anyway, much love to all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm listener james from westwood:

Ahhh, was hoping we'd hear this Bush track!
Avatar 1:09pm northguineahills:

Thanks Jason!
Avatar 1:09pm fred:

I still think that's the best music video every made (though Experiment IV is close)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm listener james from westwood:

(with a side of Utah Saints flashbacks!)
Avatar 1:10pm northguineahills:

@james: as opposed to the 90s British grungey band?
  1:11pm Sam Segal:

Hi, Mayuko! Hi, everybody!
Avatar 1:15pm fred:

I still think that Kate Bush gently pushed me on a path to weird music that eventually led me to the station
Avatar 1:18pm Mayuko:

@david w Wow, so he was your professor! sounds like a great experience!
Avatar 1:20pm Mayuko:

@Jаson !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The link worked! Thank you thank you <3
Avatar 1:21pm Mayuko:

Hope the movie had subtitles, otherwise I wouldn't understand it either. >Okinawan dialect
Avatar 1:22pm fred:

For a while in high school I was hanging out with metalhead bikers. We'd be drinking beers and smoking joints while listening to early Metallica. But nobody complained when Kate Bush came on the playlist, which was a regular thing
Avatar 1:24pm Brian in UK:

Is there a deckchair version of this ORAC?

There was a BBC sci-fi series called Blake's Seven in the early Eighties, in it there was a powerful computer called Orac.
Avatar 1:24pm Mayuko:

Hallos, Brian in UK, and Stepchild! Thanks for being here (and sorry for my belated responses on the comments.) So when I do mic breaks it's like Alexa talking... feels a bit strange!
  1:25pm melinda:

Howdies! Scraps I like your Oregon Accumulater joke.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Jаson:

@ngh, mayuko - I'll thank my 'friend' on behalf of us all! Also thanks Hams for mentioning it, can't wait to watch it as well.

(yes, it has english subtitles)
Avatar 1:27pm northguineahills:

John Baker, new to me and digdug!
  1:29pm Sam Segal:

Loving this Jeff Mills tune
  1:32pm Sam Segal:

Jeff Mills has a remarkable six-part radio show broadcasting on NTS. Worth a listen if you ever find yourselves not tuned into FMU. https://www.nts.live/projects/jeff-mills-the-outer-limits/
Avatar 1:35pm Mayuko:

Hi melinda!

@Sam just because I heard Jeff Mills brandnew stuff on Neighbor's Noise this past Tuesday! But also should be appropriate since Wilhelm Reich was capable of shooting UFOs in addition to all the other great things he did, I think?!?! Some universe feel needed!
Avatar 1:36pm Mayuko:

ah! Thanks for the link, Sam! I WILL listen!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm doctorjazz:

Hi Mayuko and all, late to the party.
Avatar 1:38pm Mayuko:

Hey doctorjazz! Welcome to the party!
Avatar 1:41pm fred:

This is nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm melinda:

The Wilhelm Reich Museum is only a few hours away from me but unfortunately I can't drive that distance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm doctorjazz:

Definitely on the Drummer stream...
Avatar 1:47pm Mayuko:

@melinda The Orgonon!!! I'd love to go to that museum. Been wanting to travel to Maine too!!
  1:48pm Barnaby:

Sounds good again, Mayuko
  1:48pm JakeGould:

Hey Mayuko!
Avatar 1:52pm Mayuko:

Thanks Barnaby! Hi Jake! Hope no vicious raccoon nor cat in our neighborhood today.
Avatar 1:53pm northguineahills:

Go out to garden, and missed Jeff Mills!

I saw a bumper sticker today that said, "grow gardens, not lawns!" (is exactly what I'm doing, what's not garden in my yard is wild).
Avatar 1:53pm northguineahills:

Thanks Sam (listening queue starts to approach infinite).
Avatar 1:57pm david w:

Thanks, Mayuko! Amazing! Ears open (brain happy)!
Avatar 2:00pm Brian in UK:

Clocks spring forward tonight over here.

March into Spring with a smile on your face.
Avatar 2:01pm fred:

Thymolphthalein might be one of the many projects of Anthony Pateras. I loved that one
Avatar 2:01pm northguineahills:

super happy thanks, Mayuko!
  2:03pm JakeGould:

No viscous animals in this part of the city. Just lots of smoking manholes.
Avatar 2:04pm northguineahills:

@Mayuko: Go on....!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm listener james from westwood:

Excellent philosophy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm listener james from westwood:

Is Fujino up for adoption, too?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Scraps (scraps):

But I also adopted everybody in the Drummer Stream this year!

Avatar 2:14pm Mayuko:

Smoking manholes!!!!!*gasp*
Avatar 2:14pm fred:

Thanks Mayuko!
Avatar 2:15pm Mayuko:

@james great idea. I should think about putting Fujino up there somehow. Seems like he's considering retirement in portugal these days.
Avatar 2:16pm Mayuko:

Thanks again everyone for listening! Hope to see you all next week.
Avatar 2:18pm fred:

I'll be there next week, but I'll miss the one after that: Byambajargal will be in town, I can't miss her
Avatar 2:25pm Mayuko:

@fred That's great, I hope you'll enjoy her show!
