Easy really: Joe McPhee on Monday, a dance/text performance on Tuesday then rushing to a concert, another dance show on Thursday, a dance show then a concert yesterday. See, I didn't even do anything on Wednesday (and got home just in time for Ridgewood Radio)

@tmoyo yeah, Untamagiru! it does seem to be a kind of sequel. I might have to rob Japan Society if they have it, never have watched it! I saw a doc film of Rinsho Kadekaru that he directed though. which was pretty interesting.

The reason the roads in Okwinawa are wide, b/c they were built by the Americans after the war (they drove on the right side of the road until the handover)

60% of all US military forces in Japan are in Okwinawa, the main contingency is Kadena AFB, as it's located in downtown Naha.

The number plate system is the same for all gaijins, not just American military personnel.

As of last year, all American military personnel are forbidden to consume alcohol, How they enforce that??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Dave B people there are used to having people from different countries in their everyday life. I had many coworkers from Okinawa at a place I worked at in Tokyo and it was interesting to hear about Okinawa from them. The conflicts there are real but it's not about xenophobia.

When I was in Japan, there was a rumor that jiko-shiki plates (illuminated green plates) were for those convicted of DUI. It wasn't until right before I left I found out it was a myth.

Yeah, phone calls do save you from gloomy situations. I once picked a super bad 大凶 omikuji (fortune cookie type of thing ), basically saying "you will die alone!" and a friend called me right after and lifted my spirits.
