Why do I routinely confuse Sebadoh with Banyan? I'll tell you why. Even though the former emerged roughly a decade before the latter, during that time I was affirmatively avoiding rock music. I'd heard of so-called indie rock. Both of these bands fit the bill and...voila!...they ended up in the same chamber in my brain.
