Dean:

Ah, shoot, I missed the Big Jay. (I've been listening to David Ware just now.) Have to relate a story about BJM. During the early '90s he was working for the USPS in LA. To exercise his chops he held a regular gig at Rim Ram in Santa Fe Springs, near Whittier where I lived. We'd go to his gigs at the restaurant/bar and just marvel at his and his band's work. Buddies of mine sat in on one show. Not long thereafter, he revived his career, and earned a glowing review in the NYT. Best New Year's Eve ever for me was at Rim Ram, with BJM playing, and a bunch of exchange students from Sweden--they were staying with another buddy of mine--in attendance!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
coelacanth∅:

Dean if i remember correctly that's one of two David Ware albums that i tried for a long time to get but never found for less than a prohibitive amount of money.
  11:12pm
Dean:

"damn computer quit..." And yet we lionize Vint Cerf, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, and the rest of those dicks.
  11:12pm
Dean:

Can't remember where I acquired it, but I know it was long ago.
Avatar 11:13pm
northguineahills:

I never saw Bo Diddley play live, but I've seen him person twice. Once on the street, and once at the mall out of all places (college roommate at the time pointed him out, I'm usually oblivious to my surroundings).
  11:14pm
Dean:

Saw Bo Diddley when he opened for the Clash in Santa Monica, '79-ish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm
coelacanth∅:

i'll get that one day Dean. i've heard most of it and really wanted it but couldn't spend >$100. for it. i knew him personally too but wouldn't have asked him for it. stupid me obviously i should have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm
Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm
