	10:39pm Dean: Ah, shoot, I missed the Big Jay. (I've been listening to David Ware just now.) Have to relate a story about BJM. During the early '90s he was working for the USPS in LA. To exercise his chops he held a regular gig at Rim Ram in Santa Fe Springs, near Whittier where I lived. We'd go to his gigs at the restaurant/bar and just marvel at his and his band's work. Buddies of mine sat in on one show. Not long thereafter, he revived his career, and earned a glowing review in the NYT. Best New Year's Eve ever for me was at Rim Ram, with BJM playing, and a bunch of exchange students from Sweden--they were staying with another buddy of mine--in attendance!
