ngh i have many vintage shirts of bright colors and sometimes substantial collars; i have red pants, and black pants with a million starscape pattern patches. i've never cared what people thought and i lifted some spirits with my attire....but wearing all that now would be forced. it's not where i'm at - though i hope that changes eventually.

...i guess i don't have a syrup meter. lots of syrupy music is on my shit list but not maybe merely because of syrupyness. i never thought about it much. ...but Barbara's version of that has a moving melody, chord progression and arrangements; and that quivering thing she does sends me over the top!

Late Stranger weigh in: Never heard The Capitols version before. As for enduring appeal of original, for me it’s not so much a matter of reasoned musical assessment but fun, memory, mood-flavor and noting the touches that escaped closer appreciation when heard as a young ‘un.
