USA Out of Vietnam sounds a bit like Chrome with its sweeping use of flanger effect. Weird, disturbing, heavy and unusual.
Avatar 12:58pm Chris from DC:

Thought I would never get out of that meeting. Rock.
Avatar 1:01pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

i read about USA Out of Vientnam on Discogs. They are VERY unique in the various styles they use.
Avatar 1:02pm Luna:

That USA Out of Vietnam just expressed how I'm feeling this AM. Whew!
Avatar 1:03pm Chris from DC:

Office pit!
Avatar 1:04pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

What kind of Red Pill are they singing about here? The literal one from The Matrix, or the one about neomasculinity? Any ideas, board?
  1:05pm Fashion Tashjian:

Checking in from Yerevan!
  1:10pm Fashion Tashjian:

@Wild Neil they are singing about the red pill of the communist revolution.)))
Avatar 1:10pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@FT-word up to Armenia! Looks like you had a nice warm day there today!
Avatar 1:11pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@FT-is that another name it goes by or are you referring to the ((((communist revolution)))? Or just the Communist Revolution per se?
Avatar 1:13pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Oh, I looked it up ))) are just extra smileys in your neck of the woods, never mind my confusing reply!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Diane and rockin' people!
  1:17pm Fashion Tashjian:

@Wild Neil I think it was THE communist revolution because they sounded very angry and determined to shout away at the capitalist pigs, but I could be wrong. Our singer is a communist and writes songs about red stuff like the other angry guys.
Avatar 1:20pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

There is a really interesting progressive theme running through this part of the show.
@FT: I am a dyed in the wool capitalist myself, but hate the greed aspect and corruption aspect such as our banks that were bailed out simply because they were "too big to fail." Iceland got it right, they said, "FU, you failed , too bad so sad, get somebody will buy your dumb ass now. "
My wife is from Poland and absolutely hates communism as do I.
However, the music form Leng T'che is really great!

Avatar 1:49pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@FT-you said "our singer". You in a band? Got a band camp link?
Avatar 2:10pm northguineahills:

W/o live music, I wither and die. When taking care of my mom for almost a year in FL, I was too busy when I was in NYC on occasion. I was truly depressed b/c I didn't seeing live music. After my first live show, I was euphoric and immediately felt better.
  2:11pm Fashion Tashjian:

Dammit I go hop out to meet a person and miss VOIVOD, plus I came in late and missed Insect Ark and Preston, damn I'm messing up. @Wild Neil I will contact you for the link
Avatar 2:12pm Diane Kamikaze:

I feel you! Some here with live music! Lifesblood!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Michael 98145:

well said, @ngh. i really have to get back in the habit.
Avatar 2:13pm northguineahills:

Now, I'm overcompensating, 1-2 shows/week, and my sleep is suffering, but totally worth it!
Avatar 2:14pm Chris from DC:

Yeah, I definitely get that one NGH.
Avatar 2:15pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I killed a queen hornet in my garage last night. I think she was looking to establish a nest there. Big fat scary looking death machine, that critter. Used a spray can of chemical death.
Avatar 2:17pm northguineahills:

I hate doing that Wild Neil, but better then the alternative down the road....
Avatar 2:19pm V Priceless:

super interview - thanx DK + Erica!

what ngh said @ 2:10
Avatar 2:20pm Diezel Tea:

You rock Diane, but you already knew that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Rich in Washington:

I was JUST thinking of this song yesterday! The origin of the mysterious violin.
Avatar 2:21pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@NGH-NESTS are terrifying to me, little death FACTORIES of pain and stinging. I hate killing any living thing, but I will NOT negotiate with nature's terrorists, sorry. Ants are ok, but hornets/yellow jackets/wasps good-bye. Love honey bees and bumble bees. They are ok.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Michael 98145:

without bees we would probably all starve

Avatar 2:23pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

*clicky* star that is.
Avatar 2:24pm Diezel Tea:

@Wild Neil you sound like the perfect fan for Insect Ark))) also check your email sir)

Holy moly, Windhand knows a thing or two about TONE!
Avatar 2:24pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@NGH-WHATEVER you do shell out $600 for the home inspection. DON"T accept the seller's home inspection from a third party, never ever ever ever. I did and I am SO SORRY I did!!!!!
Avatar 2:29pm Cheri Pi:

This is so great!!!
Avatar 2:29pm Chris from DC:

I'm psyched to see Sanhedrin now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm lukavino:

same, they are coming to RVA 6/16 and i'm definitely going now. this rules.
Avatar 2:33pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Sanhedrin sounds a bit like Masters of Reality. Remember them? 1988 or so. From Syracuse, NY. SO heavy.
Avatar 2:37pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Yeah, I like Insect Ark! Creepy name, though. Yuk, insects.
Avatar 2:41pm Chris from DC:

Atlas is getting lots of great metal shows. Good beer too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Devin B.:

@Chris: how is it as a venue? sound and sightlines, etc?
Avatar 2:42pm V Priceless:

yay Helios/Fish score, DK!
Avatar 2:44pm Chris from DC:

I haven't been yet (but will be hitting a few shows in the near future). I hear good things about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Devin B.:

Ah, thx. Have to check it out. They've definitely been booking some nice bands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If there's a land critter that's creepier than a silverfish, I don't want to hear about it.

Great Show today Diane. Thank you for all you do!
