"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

@Steveo-I think it would be cool if WFMU were on Shortwave. Unfortunately, I think you cannot broadcast music on SW in the USA.

I may not have agreed w/Chris Collins on much, but at least he was actually trying to do something about pirate radio stations (that interfere with WFMU). Now I wonder if his legislation on that will go the way of the dodo bird.

@Ike: I used to do pirate radio, outside the geography of NYC, and, well, outside the wfmu frequencies (see free103point9.org, now in Greene County, aka the Wave Farm).

I've got no problem w/the ones that don't interfere w/anybody. And I doubt Free 103.9 ever had much of a signal -- in any case, I was never able to pick them up. I think they mainly just streamed, right? And the Wave Farm has gone legal now, so good for them! Isn't the bizarre and intriguing fill-in DJ Thatcher Keats from there?
Avatar 9:54am
Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Ike-I gotta appreciate your ability to reach across the aisle on issues that matter! Wow, that was cool.
I read that with a 100W transmitter and morse code you could reach around the world with DX Shortwave!
