This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

tonight's show has 4 sets, each one employing a randomly selected word from the writings of Georges Bataille (from Absence of Myth, a collection of his writings on Surrealism specifically) as a catalyst. The set unspools from that point using word associations in the song title to explore (obliquely) themes and fetishes related to Surrealism as Bataille conceived it

as picasso said about being a communist: " i have joined a family, and like any family, it is full of shit"

people sometimes take the internecine struggles of the surrealists to demonstrate that they were absurd idealists; in fact it shows how serious they were, in their prime, about reordering the world

I went to an Alice Cooper show in Providence in 76 or 77, and Donovan opened but we arrived late as he finished up his final number, Hurdy Gurdy Man. is I'd caught the whole set.
Thanks for good slice of show tonight.
