I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

Yeah, that was almost two years ago. I missed the first half of the show because I was at a Yulduz Turdieva concert (she's a great Uzbek singer). At the end of the show a dancer showed up and after her routine threw hats into the audience and one landed on me. So I'm now the proud owner of a cheap fake Uzbek square hat

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
Dropof Goldensun:

@Mayuko You might be on to something there with "something else entirely." Remember, at level 6 we lose the cat altogether. Losing the music completely could be interpreted many ways I'm sure. I'm glad you're saving it because I think it does require some thought.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
Dropof Goldensun:

@rbrt Remembering what we saw as a baby would be so amazing!
  1:29pm
rbrt:

see now I would give this Alan davies song a level 4 because I like it, but it would be a level one because it's not so abstract?

@Dropof YES EXACTLY! I think the cat might be lost altogether indeed at level 6 like you said!
Avatar 1:43pm

@rw OK that's funny but also I better be comprehensive at least when I am talking to people. I should always get that rating from listenerds here every week.
"This week Mayuko somewhat made sense. LWC level 3"
  1:43pm
rw:

I just looked up hypnogogic light session. I think I've done something similar. James Turrell has made dome shaped structures lit with pulsing colored light that creates hallucinatory images in your mind. I've heard of people having seizures in them but if you're not worried about that I'd recommend the experience if you ever have a chance. I'm not good at rating stuff but I'd say LWC-4 or so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm
fred:

I remember Donna Summer (the WFMU one) had pretty nice tracks disassembling well-known tunes. Does that count?
Avatar 1:44pm
Mayuko:

@rbrt re Alan davies Yeah maybe you're right! It's not abstract as much as its sound texture feels. Maybe I should put it down to at least level 3.
  1:46pm
rbrt:

I will never listen to music again wihtout applying level cats lol
  1:47pm
rw:

And, I probably shouldn't say this publicly but I don't really think of those Turrell works as particularly interesting artworks. I do like his simpler works but when they get too gimmicky they lose their appeal to me. As a cool experience those immersive pulsing light works are pretty great though.
Avatar 1:47pm

@Joe Ok yeah I agree, rated 2.

Hi Mayuko, quickly say hi. Listening a lot but less commenting
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm

@Mayuko: I don't have a grasp of the scale, but having people dance to noise (even for a short time) probably calls for a weird cat
  1:54pm
Rickwaukee:

@Mayuko, I wish you a wonderful trip. I am continually amazed how short a time you've been in the USA - but it must seem like a lifetime since you've been home. Thanks for another fine show of great Felines. Will miss you.
Avatar 1:55pm
Mayuko:

@rw Think I'd be afraid of anything hypnogogic, though I never had seizures, feel like my senses are already screwed a bit and don't wanna mess with it much. Same reason I don't want to take drugs, even like marijuana that's very popular around here.
Avatar 1:55pm
Mayuko:

Hi Barnaby! Glad to know you're listening!!!
