Hi again, Julie. I'd like to smash a number of things right about now. I hope Meghan's emergency isn't too serious. Thanks for stepping in on a Wednesday like this.

Wigstock was revived last summer. A *lotta* guys played Queen. But I digress.
Avatar 12:51pm
northguineahills:

So, wigstock isn't a buy-in bulk artificial hair emporium, Parq?
Avatar 🦇 12:52pm
Julie:

wigstock tickets were pricey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Parq:

So were Queen tickets when they were active. See how nicely that balances out?
Avatar 🦇 12:56pm
Julie:

Nothing costs as much as my Elton John tickets for November!
Avatar 1:00pm
Carmichael:

I saw EJ a few years back, and the tix were twice what I normally pay for similar artists.
Avatar 1:01pm
northguineahills:

@Julie: My body hates, me and my immune-system is attacking my skin (psoriasis). This is due to pychosomatic trauma. then I got staph infection which made the psoriasis flare up. The meds, even w/ insurance are really pricey. (I'm getting better).
Avatar 🦇 1:03pm
Julie:

oh @NGH I have similar, without the skin issue. Are you on biologics? I am trying to avoid those because I already get sick so easy. Glad to hear you are getting better. I too live in a body that hates me, it's an endless struggle. But yay for those good days!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm
Parq:

See, this is *another* reason why I don't go to major-label shows any more. (I haven't been to a local show in a couple of years, but that's another story.) Who the hell can afford them?

NGH, a staph infection is scary stuff. I'm glad you're doing better.
Avatar 🦇 1:04pm
Julie:

Carmichael I haven't seen him since Empty Garden came out and Quarterflash opened for him. I hate MSG but I must see him once more!
Avatar 1:10pm
northguineahills:

Right now, I'm on oral antibiotics (staph infection)(for awhile I couldn't get my feet in my shoes),topical creams including one w/ steroids (which effs my hormones), and immunosuppressives. My body doesn't like the treatment and it hurts my work and my circadian rhythms. But, the glacial improvement give me hope. Hopefully, I'll be good by spring.

here's Meghan's pledge link again pledge.wfmu.org...

about as masculine as I am... wait....

is it a romance show?
Avatar 2:05pm
northguineahills:

I love the part of Scottish history of the Jacobite reunion. (history nerd, and my ancestor, the Duke of Argyle, is a minor character).
Avatar 2:05pm
Carmichael:

Syd, my man. Still the finest Floyd lineup, if I do say so myself.
Avatar 2:07pm
northguineahills:

Romance is there, but it's not the focus (at least for me), I enjoy the historical background which they mostly get right (w/ some minor embellishments.
Avatar 🦇 2:07pm
Julie:

Syd is the man for sure
Avatar 2:11pm

Jacobite rebellion (words are hard)
Avatar 2:15pm

Avatar 🦇 2:16pm

California band. I think they only had the one album but they did a great cover of the Pixies Gigantic
Avatar 2:17pm
northguineahills:

I didn't know Virginia Astley put anything out after the early 80s, awesome!
Avatar 🦇 2:20pm

not much..looks like she did a self-released in 2006 and nothing else really between or after. She has a lovely voice.
Avatar 2:29pm
northguineahills:

I was just listening to Bryter Layter Monday!
Avatar 🦇 2:30pm
Julie:

Nick Drake is what I put on when I'm in a lot of pain and can't sleep. It's very comforting.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:31pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Wondering if anyone has latched on to Toast of London yet. Julie, you'd probably relate. Except for the first episode or so, each episode begins with the lead character doing voice-overs. The interchange between him and the booth guys is priceless
Avatar 2:33pm
northguineahills:

"a lot of pain and can't sleep". That's me, especially the can't sleep part. (until last night, I was averaging 3 hours of sleep a night).
Avatar 🦇 2:33pm
Julie:

hmm I don't know it, who shows it?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
Phillippe Bastille:

Its on Netflix. One of the late night BBC4 shows. Here's a link to some of the voiceover bits: language NSFW youtu.be...
Avatar 🦇 2:44pm
Julie:

NGH marijuana has helped immensely with the sleep part. I say that as a lifelong insomniac.
Avatar 2:49pm
northguineahills:

Yeah, from my sister-in-law in Orlando, I have one that puts me to sleep (usually) 45 mins before bed w/ one or two pulls..., and another that keeps me awake.
Avatar 2:49pm
northguineahills:

Looks my fandango, Phillippe!
Avatar 🦇 2:49pm
Julie:

indica versus sativa?
Avatar 🦇 2:50pm
Julie:

this song was already planned and not chosen for the conversation haha
Avatar 2:52pm
northguineahills:

I believe so. I brother gave a crap load when his wife was pregnant, it's lasted me 18 mos. (and he was taking from it as well).
Avatar 🦇 2:54pm
Julie:

I tried sativa hoping it would help pain and let me function but it also gives me won't get off the couchitis. Great at bedtime though.
Avatar 🦇 2:55pm
Julie:

thanks for listening everyone! I'm gonna play my ending bed music but I'm going to end with a song after that. Please send some pledges Meghan's way, and hope to be back before long!

Phillippe Bastille:

I find trazodone helps with getting to sleep, particularly when I was it down with NyQuil
Avatar 2:58pm
northguineahills:

Portishead, timeless to me!

Play as long as you want, Julie!....

Both strains help w/ my nausea, which was a problem even before my current meds (haven't taken meds since I was a kid before this summer.
Avatar 2:59pm
northguineahills:

Nyquil just puts me out for two hours and then I can't get back to sleep for the rest of the night.

muchas gracias, Julie!, buena suerte!
