I knew the drummer in WOV, since I was 14, in Santa Maria, CA
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm

It don't think there's been an 8-bit version of Revolution #9 yet.

Well, if Zeitkratzer can do an acoustic symphonic version of Metal Machine Music, then someone can do an 8-bit version....

chresti, Joe Nanini? I've mentioned before here that WOV called me one day to ask my band to open for them at Hong Kong Cafe...or was it Madame Wong's?

A few of us in Santa Maria moved to LA in '76

Dean, yes, that is a shame - but at least you have the flyers.

Heh, Carmichael. It wasn't my design. No doubt mine would have been even more Spartan. Reminds me of a t-shirt I saw today. https://bit.ly/2Qqtieq

Dean:

Anti-M ain't half bad as band names go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm
David D:

I kind of like M as well. Boldly simple.
  5:52pm
Dean:

Truly, it was a snide swipe at X, which I thought was one of the silliest band names ever. Still do, in fact. Of course, they got more mileage out of their name, not to mention their musicianship, than we did.
  5:54pm
Dean:

Where X implicitly proclaimed their extraordinary excellence and spot-marking focus, we opted to embrace our mediocrity.
Avatar 5:55pm

Dean:

Good to hear, βrian! Christmas recital, right? I heard them mid-Wilshire years ago in a large-ish cathedral. The sound was glorious, I suspect because they knew how to "play" the space. Which reminds me that I would love again to hear a musical group perform at Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. It was a tinier space in terms of footprint, but wow that elevation!
