Ready with my finger snappin' self. Jimmy Smith was a groove live when I saw 'em back in the day.
  4:02pm
Martinibomb:

I have some Derrek and Clive I play later and I notice if you play this show on a mono speaker it cancels out the audio. Hahah Stereo only for that one today. Lol

Verve and Smith, always cool. Jimmy "Root Down" Smith starting the show!
  4:02pm
Martinibomb:

yeah i wuz making a pizza from scratch while I was making this show. My setup is in my kitchen Lol
Avatar 4:02pm

Jimmy Smith used to have his own club in the neighborhood I live in now! Wish it (and he) still was here.
Avatar 4:02pm

Excellent!

I've been thinking about mixing live cooking with music because of my setup? Plus we always talk about food in Sheena's

Mixing Drinks While Mixing Tracks, w/Martinibomb
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
Rich in Washington:

So many of my DJ friends are car-less or live really far away from me, so having guests over is somewhat of a daunting proposal.
Avatar 4:09pm
worldsworstrecords:

Not heard this one before
  4:09pm
Martinibomb:

@Rich how much of a drive from PDX to your place is it? I know you live on a mountain or something?
Avatar 4:10pm
Otis Fodder:

If we go live one day, I hope to do live call-ins. Setup a Skype Number and all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm
Rich in Washington:

I DO have my first guest confirmed, but the date's not set yet. Kind of tempted to make it a two-parter, since it's hard to stop after only an hour.
  4:11pm
Martinibomb:

@Darryl yeah it's from a Bud Spencer film called like Super Sherriff or something. I love Oliver Onions tho.. this track is pretty cool one
Avatar 4:11pm
worldsworstrecords:

Mr Onions is a brace of Italian brothers, apparently,
Avatar 4:11pm
Otis Fodder:

@Rich - Even 3 hours fly by. Often guests are like, on really, we only have 1 hour left.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm
Rich in Washington:

I do indeed. Up 1100 feet on Larch Mountain, right next to a minimum security prison and a gov't rifle range!
I'm about 24 miles from Portland, about 45 minutes, unless you drive like me, then it's 44 minutes.
  4:12pm
Martinibomb:

Yup! The De Angelis bros. I love their work. I'm always finding stuff from them that I didn't know about they did a ton
  4:13pm
Martinibomb:

I'm glad you're able to shave off a minute driving like a mad man on those mountain curves
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm
Rich in Washington:

Whoa! I had no idea Jimmy Smith did this!
Avatar 4:15pm
Mr Fab:

Oh man, how do I not know this! Love anything Munsters. Tru fact: Munster is my mom's maiden name (it's actually a town in Germany).
Avatar 4:15pm
Otis Fodder:

Oh wow, Yann Tomita... Doopees! Haven't heard this in years, need to re-pick-up. By the speaker fixed, waiting...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm
Rich in Washington:

The Doopees! Yay!
  4:16pm
Martinibomb:

I love how Smith can pull some other things out of the Munsters. yes I'm huge fan of that song too. Mr. Fab have you heard the remix Coconut Monkey Rocket and I did of it?
Avatar 4:17pm

Avatar 4:18pm

Munster Beat! Not only have i heard, it, it's in the stream
  4:19pm

Martinibomb:

I like this Miniflex album a ton.
Avatar 4:23pm
worldsworstrecords:

I need to buy this
  4:24pm
Martinibomb:

That miniflex album was a big influence on me. I love the way it's produced.
Avatar 4:25pm
worldsworstrecords:

Did you use 'oo' flour for the dough?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm
Rich in Washington:

I have that Satie Moog record. It's pretty peculiar.
Avatar 4:27pm
Otis Fodder:

Is this the Camarata one?
  4:27pm
Martinibomb:

I have not tried 'oo' because it's hard to get here. I think I'd have to order it. Don't think I've found it anywhere. It's similar to cake flour I think
  4:29pm
Martinibomb:

@Otis I'm totally not sure which track I played .. I gotta go dig the record out and figure it out. But yeah could be??
  4:30pm
Martinibomb:

@otis oh yes with the Camarata Chamber orchestra it says
Avatar 4:30pm
Otis Fodder:

I have to dig it out too. Currently everything is disorganized here as I move vinyl I play to one side of the room. The Camarata album, I recall, is really good!
  4:31pm
Martinibomb:

I see why I didn't write down the track - the track names were inside the cover and I didn't have time to open it up..
Avatar 4:32pm
Otis Fodder:

Ya know, checking, because if there was another Satie Moog record like that one, I would be thristing for a copy. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm
Rich in Washington:

The Camarata Contemporary Chamber Orchestra is the one I have. Are there others, I wonder?
Avatar 4:35pm
worldsworstrecords:

Sorry... been hunting around the 'net for a copy of the Miniflex album. I think you can use All Purpose flour instead of '00'. I only started making pizzas recently and use '00', it makes a really thin, crisp base, which I like
Avatar 4:36pm
worldsworstrecords:

I need to dip out... great show tonight MB. enjoy the erst of the evening everyone!
  4:37pm
Martinibomb:

thanks Darryl! Catch you later thanks for dropping in
Avatar 4:37pm
worldsworstrecords:

Talk soon!
Avatar 4:40pm
Otis Fodder:

I know of a number of Joplin moog records, but usually pass on those. Ruth White did some Satie pieces, but other than Camarata, I don't know of any other full-length LPs of Satie. Would love to hear more.
Avatar 4:41pm
Mr Fab:

interesting how i can tell this stuff is japanese, even without vocals. it just sounds Japanese, even tho it doesn't sound particularly "Japanese." If you know what I mean...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm
Rich in Washington:

Is this gonna be the newly embiggened, double dry Martinibomb?
  4:43pm
Martinibomb:

@Mr Fab I know exactly what you mean. Sampling western stuff but it still sounds japanese
  4:44pm
Martinibomb:

@Rich yes sticking with 2hrs. I think 1hr is more difficult for me because I obsesses about packing stuff in.. with this I can kinda let things go
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm
Rich in Washington:

Combustible Edison will always remind me of my old pal Paul who turned me onto swanky lounge stuff, drinking in real, actual swanky lounges, etc. He went by the moniker MC Extra Pall Mall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm
Rich in Washington:

He's now a PhD, working for the CDC in DC.
  4:45pm
Martinibomb:

Good MC Name. Pall Mall! omg i wonder if those are still being made?
  4:46pm
Martinibomb:

@Rich people effing loved my freeform show today. I got more feedback today than anything else I've done down there
  4:51pm
Martinibomb:

Make sure you're not listening in mono for the next :30min Some of the audio I play will cancel out on mono speakers like blutooth ones hahah
Avatar 4:52pm
Mr Fab:

I read that as: 'Rich people' effing loved my freeform show today.

was thinking: why, you played 'Kill the Poor' or sumthin?
  4:54pm
Martinibomb:

hahah! @Mr Fab I did a performance art piece this morning just mouth sounds into the mic for 2 hours lol But I keep getting messages about how awesome it was Lol it's cracking me up
Avatar 4:58pm

thanks for another great show @martinibomb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm

But wait.. THERE'S MORE!
  4:59pm

  5:00pm
Martinibomb:

Shits about to get real
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm

Yeah, I think the freakform radio torch has definitely been passed to Freeform Portland. So nice to hear eclectic programming on in the daytime on FM radio again.
Avatar 5:18pm
Mr Fab:

trying not to bust out laffin TOO much. I am (allegedly) at work, after all.
  5:19pm
Martinibomb:

Heheh Cook/Moore are just super funny.. especially this one
Avatar 5:23pm
Mr Fab:

This mix would be good for a cocktail party show. Cuz i'd say Pete n Dud are a few ahead of us. Was getting tipsy just listening to that.
  5:25pm
Martinibomb:

Oh yeah they were drinkin - most of that is just them going off I don't think there was a script
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm
Rich in Washington:

It's interesting how much the Clive & Derek stuff really reminds me of Chris Morris' stuff. I would bet dinero that he was a fan.
  5:26pm
Martinibomb:

This next track i wish I would have covered in a different style. but I tried to make it sound exactly like the original for some reason
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm
Rich in Washington:

I need to see this film, though.
  5:27pm
Martinibomb:

@Rich just search youtube for Clive & Derek get the horn it's a 16mm behind the scenes film of them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm
Rich in Washington:

I did find it. Saved. Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh man. This is so cool! There is a YouTube video of YMO doing this and Firecracker on Soul Train!
  5:42pm
Martinibomb:

This song makes me laugh..
  5:44pm
Martinibomb:

I'm glad I grew up when saturday morning cartoons were over when Soul Train started. Good times
Avatar 5:45pm
Mr Fab:

No one does kooky like the Japanese
  5:46pm
Martinibomb:

oh no.. i didn't write down this current track after YMO. can't remember what this is??
  5:49pm
Martinibomb:

figured it out! whew
Avatar 5:49pm
Mr Fab:

I was gonna say: Make something up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm
Rich in Washington:

Everytime I watch BB, I wish there were more films.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm
Rich in Washington:

It was inspired genius how they made the movie seem like it was a lackluster fourth movie in a series. Not sure how much of that was intentional.
  5:53pm
Martinibomb:

Yes I agree wish there were more.. didn't that writer also write big trouble in little china.. kinda consider them companion films
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm
Rich in Washington:

I've never actually seen BTiLC.
  5:54pm
Martinibomb:

Okie Dokie that's the END! Thanks for coming everyone
  5:55pm

Cya Friday Otis!Yup Jack Danger's still killing it even in 2019 I'm sure
