	10:45pm Dean: Shoot, y'all shoulda been here last night. I did roasted root vegetable with roasted bratwurst and a Dijon mustard dressing. It was spectacular. However, my wife, for whom I prepared it, decided to detour to a local pizza joint for beer to watch something she referred to as a "super bowl."
	♥ 10:46pm Franco Twinkie: I have two Lyon Maid ice cream Commer vans. One it a total wreck, with scraped menu board decals. When I was a kid, the idea of getting an Ice Lolly struck me as very odd, then I saw Help, and I realized English people talked very funny indeed.
	♥ 10:46pm melinda: I boiled potatoes on Saturday so I could pan-fry them later but have been too lazy/tired to do the frying. Too many steps.
	♥ 10:46pm coelacanth∅: for a while rice chex (& i guess the other chex, which i never ate) had "the lindburg line" cars , for ? number of box tops. i ended up with at least 10 of those -including this one:
	10:47pm Dean: No, melinda. Dice Russets. Throw the into a pan with a coupla tablespoons of olive oil. Medium heat for a few minutes, then low. Toss them now and then. In an hour or two, they'll be golden, crisp on the outside, pillowy on the inside. Season as you prefer.

	11:00pm ifny: Dean: I just made potatoes like that for the first time on Saturday. So much fluffy magic, so many golden eyes! I used a splat of avocado oil and then melted a bit of coconut oil with olive oil. I have this massive coconut oil tub that I bought on sale -- trying to use it in everything or I'll never get through it.
	♥ 11:00pm Franco Twinkie: I take back that last comment. I had The Little red Wagon. I was really challenged buy the front end suspension. I would get the model of any thing I saw at the drags, i.e. Don Garlits Swamp Rat.

	11:03pm still b/p: I saw most of the super thing, and as for the halftime show, there ain't enough open-flame and lighting whizbammery to take it out of the yawny zone. melinda, is that the artist who makes whole shop displays of invented toys?

	♥ 11:03pm coelacanth∅: Franco these where matchbox-sized plastic models that (for a child that never put models together) took about 5 minutes to assemble. what i liked about them was 1) they were realistic and 2) they were all regular (though cool) street cars. none of this hot wheels ridiculousness.
	11:05pm Dean: I don't peel them, but it's a judgment call. If you're into the crispy-goldenness, then peel them, because the flesh of the potatoes is what takes on that color. But if you like the peels--if you like baked potatoes--then by all means keep them on.

(as did my whole family...gradually) in that she stopped peeling apples for pies and potatoes for mashed potatoes.

(i use a cleaver to slice an onion (in my hands) and a cleaver w/cutting board for things like winter squashes; pineapple..... i sharpened my knives a couple months ago and immediately did a job on my thumb.

	10:47pm Dean: No, melinda. Dice Russets. Throw the into a pan with a coupla tablespoons of olive oil. Medium heat for a few minutes, then low. Toss them now and then. In an hour or two, they'll be golden, crisp on the outside, pillowy on the inside. Season as you prefer.

	11:00pm ifny: Dean: I just made potatoes like that for the first time on Saturday. So much fluffy magic, so many golden eyes! I used a splat of avocado oil and then melted a bit of coconut oil with olive oil. I have this massive coconut oil tub that I bought on sale -- trying to use it in everything or I'll never get through it.

	♥ 11:03pm coelacanth∅: Franco these where matchbox-sized plastic models that (for a child that never put models together) took about 5 minutes to assemble. what i liked about them was 1) they were realistic and 2) they were all regular (though cool) street cars. none of this hot wheels ridiculousness.
	11:05pm Dean: I don't peel them, but it's a judgment call. If you're into the crispy-goldenness, then peel them, because the flesh of the potatoes is what takes on that color. But if you like the peels--if you like baked potatoes--then by all means keep them on.

(i use a cleaver to slice an onion (in my hands) and a cleaver w/cutting board for things like winter squashes; pineapple..... i sharpened my knives a couple months ago and immediately did a job on my thumb.
