A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

I’m having a dysfunctional technology week. Learning how intertwined my life and business is with smartphone and connectivity.
When ya got no data, yet pretty locked out!
Wish me luck at Apple today

Kind of like having two factor authentication. Connected to your smartphone. When the data goes out one can’t receive a text or call from the bank to get into their online account!
After having to delete the apps and reinstall the OS.
21st century problems.
Please don’t let self driving cars and AI takeover. I do t want to deal with the tech support from the interstate!

the NYC Bored of Ed(DOE) for 27 years,
I have no idea what, who, why what where, but I have found Granny and P.Bastille stupendous and informative and all around good souls
so we bring in some Pixie Dust and virtual hugs/handshakes and go
to the goodness of the future... (That sounds vapid out of context but I truly mean it!!!!!!!!!!)

About once a week I make my coffee in a Chemex, these white filters taste funny tho.
I’m used to the French press

I also make a pour-over brew (@10:00 AM EDST)
I do NOT use the paper filters.
I have a stainless steel, reusable filter.
It's.... nice

Lixiviated Life:
Have you tried rinsing the paper filter w/ hot water from the kettle before using?
I've heard it washes away the "paper taste"

@LL- a friend left a stack of these filters, I use them but they leave a funky paper taste. Wondering if the unbleached ones are any different

@kev I use chaga for those reasons, too, it has no buzz. I use un- bleached filters for my decaf pour-overs and don't notice a taste, but now I'm thinking maybe I should break out the french press and do a comparison. I stopped using it because of permanent residue in the filter.
