"Home On The Strange", ha. that's be a good name for this show. (for this STATION).
Avatar 7:06pm
spacebrother:

Yo! Mr. Fab!
Avatar 7:08pm
spacebrother:

We should petition to change the name, but people would think it was a weird country music station.

totally off my schedule today. Lost all track of time today.
Avatar 7:17pm
Mr Fab:

"World's Worst Records" is on Wednesdays, actually. Don't have any programming (yet) on Tuesdays.
Avatar 7:17pm
spacebrother:

Whoops, sorry.
Avatar 7:18pm
Mr Fab:

Of course, if anyone tunes in on Tuesdays, the stream will probly be playing some bad records anyway.
Avatar 7:19pm
spacebrother:

Read the schedule wrong.

Martinibomb:

I was really into making boomerangs when I was a kid so this song is hilarious because most of the time they"d get half way out and snap mid air and I'd be so depressed. Lol
Avatar 7:20pm
spacebrother:

I did that for a few days when I was a kid too. They didn't even fly. Just flutterred around and hit the ground.
  7:25pm
Martinibomb:

I actually could get em to fly pretty well and even come back but half the time they'd break right at the furthest point.
  7:28pm
Martinibomb:

oh yeh! TKWO is awesome
Avatar 7:30pm

I was thinking they were a little sedate!

I've got a Russian popcorn by Vyacheslav Mescherin, who was sort of the Raymond Scott of Soviet Russia.
Avatar 7:33pm
spacebrother:

Wow. Gotta hear that!

Avatar 7:35pm

hey Rich, I only recently discovered Vyacheslav Mescherin. Cool stuff. Guess it was hidden behind the Iron Curtain at the time.

I found a comp of his stuff. His earliest stuff is lots of fun in a Scott/Jean-Jacques Perrey sense but his later stuff, in the 70s, not so much.
Avatar 7:39pm
Mr Fab:

wow...only the Beach Boys could make the German language sound so lovely...

James Archer:

I'm awaiting Pork Side of the Moon with baited breath!
Avatar 7:41pm

Hey James!
Avatar 7:41pm

I wonder if the Beach Boys did more German stuff?

Couldn't find anything on this version of Sugar Sugar. Anyone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm
Rich in Washington:

I had an unexpected visitor in the air room during my latest KBOO show on Thursday night, so put a long track on so I could speak to them for a spell, so put on the German version of Don McLean's American Pie.

Thanks CC!
  7:49pm
CC:

German is probably easier to sing phonetically than other languages maybe that's why you don't hear them sing in a lot of other languages???
Avatar 7:50pm
Mr Fab:

hi CC, yeah, I have a German friend who heard the Beatles german language remakes of some of their songs like "She Loves You," and said they did quite a good job of it.
  7:53pm
James Archer:

I love this. I feel like I'm really going down into the Canyon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
Rich in Washington:

I love the German Beatles songs. I taped them off the radio many years ago and used to love to put them on people's mix tapes. I would imagine their jaws dropping, they're so perfect.
Avatar 7:53pm
spacebrother:

I played some Cindy Und Bert (cover of "Paranoid") for a German guest once on an old show and he translated live on air. It was one of the funniest shows ever, but I LOST THE RECORDING.
Avatar 7:54pm
spacebrother:

@ James - It's like going on a hike with Johnny himself.
Avatar 7:56pm
Mr Fab:

Been a Jonny Cash fan since I was a wee lad, but don't have this one. Nice!
I have some friends who foolishly decided to HIKE down the Grand Canyon. One of them literally had bloody feet when they were done.
  7:56pm
James Archer:

Yes! He's captivating.
Avatar 7:56pm

I record audio on trips too, so this is indulgent for me.
