hey Spacebrother! Looks like Sheena's playing a flying saucer record to get us all in the mood for your show.
Avatar 7:02pm
spacebrother:

Good intro!
Avatar 7:03pm
Mr Fab:

'twas an answer record to Buchanan and goodman's "Flying Saucer." Does anyone make answer records any more?
Avatar 7:04pm
Mr Fab:

is this in real Japanese? Or just making Japanese-sounding noises
Avatar 7:05pm
spacebrother:

Fake/ phonetic.
Avatar 7:07pm
spacebrother:

Didn't post a show announcement. Just got home 10 minutes before showtime.
Avatar 7:10pm
spacebrother:

I wish answer records were still made. Probably on Youtube now if they even do such things.
Avatar 7:11pm
Mr Fab:

Ha, that Day-O was great. Again, i wonder how accurate the japanese was
Avatar 7:12pm
spacebrother:

The Day-O was from a Japanese artist.
Avatar 7:14pm
Mr Fab:

Hip-hop revived the it, there used to have a lot of answer records. There was a hit rap song in the '80s called "Roxanne Roxanne" that resulted in a compilation of an entire album's worth of answer songs to it. I may still have it?

Avatar 7:22pm
Mr Fab:

What ride was 'Miracles From Molecules' from?
Avatar 7:23pm
spacebrother:

Monsanto's World Of Inner Space!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm
Rich in Washington:

Wasn't it sponsored by Monsanto?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm
Rich in Washington:

God. We had this on a record. I remember it so well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm
Rich in Washington:

These outtakes are fantastic!
Avatar 7:25pm
spacebrother:

I don't remember where I found them.
Avatar 7:26pm
spacebrother:

Yes, Monsanto sponsored my favorite ride ever.
Avatar 7:26pm
spacebrother:

You can see why this one didn't make the cut.
  7:26pm
Martinibomb:

was thinking these outtakes were on a haunted mansion laserdisc? not sure why I'm thinking that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
Rich in Washington:

Have you heard the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln outtakes?
Avatar 7:27pm
Mr Fab:

Journey thru Inner Space - ah yes, that was the ride that shrunk you down to microscopic size. And there was a giant eyeball watching you thru a microscope. Teenagers loved getting wasted and going on that ride.
Avatar 7:28pm
spacebrother:

@ Rich, NO!
Avatar 7:28pm
Mr Fab:

just looked it up, we're both wrong - it was called Adventure Thru Inner Space. Closed in '85.
  7:29pm
Martinibomb:

Just missed it 86 was my first visit there. Sounds cool
Avatar 7:30pm
spacebrother:

Yes, closed to make room for frackin' Star Tours.
  7:30pm
Martinibomb:

yup! that's what I saw hah
Avatar 7:31pm
Mr Fab:

you're not thinking of Negativland's sampling of Moments with Mr. Lincoln? They made it sound like Lincoln was an angry atheist warning us against all that "god bull."
Avatar 7:32pm
spacebrother:

I'd like to hear either.
Avatar 7:40pm
spacebrother:

Any idea of Kitchstortion release? Media? Date? Label? I think I got it from Music For Maniacs.
Avatar 7:45pm
spacebrother:

Where did everyone go?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Rich in Washington:

Godbull is on Negativland's No Business album, but I think there was a really long version that Don Joyce used to play on Over the Edge. It's using outtakes from Royal Dano's characterization for the Hall of Presidents exhibit. It's hilarious. "God must die by suicide!"
Avatar 7:46pm
Mr Fab:

he sent it to MusicForManiacs, but it's a free online album called 'Vague Serenade':
archive.org...
Avatar 7:47pm
Mr Fab:

Thanks for reminding me of this old stuff from my blog! I'd forgotten about it. Gotta add it to the stream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
Rich in Washington:

I forgot all about Kitchstortion! That was incredible!
Avatar 7:47pm
spacebrother:

Thanks Mr. Fab!
Avatar 7:47pm
spacebrother:

This sounds almost SubGenius-like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
Rich in Washington:

I really need this CBGBs record. I remember marveling at it at the first every used record store I used to hang out at, wondering if it was really worth the five bucks or whatever they were selling it for.
Avatar 7:53pm
Mr Fab:

It's really not that great of an album. All the big names had moved on and were under contracts to other labels. But I think Pere Ubu's one it? And that Manster song's a hoot'n' a half.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
Rich in Washington:

I love this track!
  7:56pm
Martinibomb:

this kitchen motors track is sooper sooper cool. Thanks for the music today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
Rich in Washington:

I love that minimal synth new wave thing of the late 70s/early 80s.
Avatar 7:59pm
spacebrother:

You're quite welcome MBomb.
  7:59pm
Martinibomb:

@Rich me tooo! love it
Avatar 7:59pm

Yeah Rich, it's before people knew exactly what they were doing, which is the best period of anything.

Another flawless show. Thx muchly Spacebrother, and I'll see you all back in the chat Wednesday for "the World's Worst Records."
