Listener Robert:

My problem when I dream lucidly is that I don't take it seriously as a tool. Either I just sit back and think, this is a nice show, or I say, this is fun, and use the opportunity to do magic tricks, i.e. things that'd be impossible in the waking world -- but trivial things, like practical jokes on the other characters in my dream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
ultradamno:

I don't think I've hosted zombies but werewolves, vampires and crazed scooter children have passed through.
  7:26pm
Emily:

Y’all, SO many zombies. It’s like, once a week.
  7:27pm
Listener Robert:

And in a way, my problem in lucid dreams may be my problem in life: I tend to not take things seriously. As I tell people, these days I find most things interesting, and most of them funny.
Avatar 7:27pm
Linda Lee:

i've hosted entities that *might* be considered zombies if i had no other context for dream interpretation but pop culture.

I have a lot of dreams about being in a different city and not making it to the train station or airport in time, not knowing how to find my way there, getting there and realizing I forgot my passport, getting lost in the airport, etc. I don't travel a lot in waking life so these seem largely symbolic.

Emily in a post apocalyptic world where we are fighting zombies. Your gonna need a flame thrower
  7:31pm
Listener Robert:

Melinda, that's part of a theme I've had in my dreams for years that I call "tricky travel". I dream I'm having any of various troubles getting from one place to another by any of various means.
Avatar 7:33pm
Linda Lee:

i think we're fighting zombies currently. we're experiencing the loss of our basic humanity on many levels & we know it..
  7:35pm
fullmetalmonkey:

Anyone have repetitive lucid dreams. You know, returning to the same place on different nights. And recognizing the place. .?
Avatar 7:35pm

that basic humanity is compassion for one another. we're becoming functioning but heartless beings.

Avatar 7:40pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm
melinda:

I usually like remembering dreams but there have been times when I feel like I'm remembering the dreams because I can't really wake up, and my sleep/health is not good. So not remembering means I'm waking up more alert.
Avatar 7:40pm
Buddha of Suburbia:

There have been two times I have dreamed of someone being injured only to learn the next day that they were in fact injured. When I was just a kid I dreamed my brother fell skiing (he never skiied a day in his life)..and had a brpken collar bone. The next day my mom got a call from school that he was injured with a broken collar bone from rough housing with a student.
Avatar 7:41pm

Guys, I think momzilla dropped off, so glad she didn't hear all those personal details. (mom, your not here right?)
Avatar 7:41pm
Linda Lee:

i think our dreams offer excellent insight into our overall health, for sure.
Avatar 7:41pm
Buddha of Suburbia:

the other time I dreamed my 3rd grade music teacher broke her arm. A few days later I walked into a local dive bar and there she was in an arm cast.
  7:42pm
Listener Robert:

As an example of how I fritter away opportunities in lucid dreams, recently when I was dreaming I realized from the absurdity of the situation -- being naked on the sidewalk outside Grand Central -- that I was dreaming. So what did I do? I crossed the street against traffic, shoved people out of the way, crashed a party, manifested a toothbrush and brushed my teeth out on the street, and then tossed the toothbrush in the air to get rid of it. But the last joke was on me: it came back down and clattered onto the street instead of disappearing! So I'm not even in full control when I'm lucid.
  7:43pm
Emily:

@Buddha whoaaaah I’ve always wondered about dream premonitions. I’ve had a few instances like that, too.

I had a recurring dream for a while of being in a theater watching a movie and becoming aware of rats and other small animals scurrying about my feet and scratching and biting at me...and eventually realized it was because of the cat darting back and forth over the bed trying to wake me up.
  7:47pm

@linda. I have no plans on giving up interacting and changing my dreams. It's amazing
  7:53pm
Listener Robert:

Sometimes I have nested dreams, where I realize I'm dreaming and then wake up out of it INTO ANOTHER DREAM. Recently I had one of those that was nested several deep AND IN SIMILAR SITUATIONS AND SETTINGS. It was really annoying.

I think this tends to happen in light sleep, where I'm uncomfortably trying to wake up OR get to deeper sleep. It's also why I love JA in the AM's opening theme, Neil Rolnick's "Wakeup", which sounds EXACTLY like trying to wake up, falling back asleep, then finally waking up for real.
  7:53pm

The trick to staying in the dream when you clearly know your dreaming is not easy. But the trick is getting more and more comfortable staying in it each time. You have to feel comfortable being in there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm

I've had the opposite of nesting dreams, that is, in a recurring way, I've dreamed of being in bed staring at the wall unable to sleep and then woke up. Dreaming of insomnia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
melinda:

@Robert I've had nested dreams too. The last one I remember was of a common theme where I have to go back to high school, but I remembered that no, I did graduate back in the 80s and this must be a dream.
