Hello!

Chris Farrell:

Hello horse-prone folk!

Listened to American Water about 6 times this weekend. Could not get enough of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm
Sam Segal:

Thanks for showing up early, TDK!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm
Sam Segal:

Chresti, Doctor Jazz, Chris! Good and crazy people, my friends!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm

Haven't heard a show tune in awhile.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm

I'm not afraid to play a showtune, Chresti, but I try not to abuse the privilege.

Wouldn't that be a step-by-step-by-step-by-step guide?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm

I've never listened to this with earphones befoe

...like they said back then, this is quirky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm
Franco Twinkie:

Hey Sam! Chresti is to modest to talk about it, but she had a front row seat for a lot of Black Randy and The Metrosquads shenanigans back in the day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm
Sam Segal:

Depends if the audience is bipedal or not, @NGH! Welcome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm
Sam Segal:

@Franco: I was wondering if the West Coast contingent might appreciate that Black Randy joint.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm
Franco Twinkie:

I saw The Pink Section open for The Cramps at Mabuhay Gardens in 1979. Tuxedo Moon was also on the bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm
Sam Segal:

@Chris, glad you're digging American Water. David Berman's new band Purple Mountains is gonna be rolling through your town in August, I believe.
Avatar 9:22pm
TDK60:

I think I heard Black Randy some, back then...? (my dusty memory closet.}

It was more like a side table
  9:23pm
Chris Farrell:

That would be sweet to see. Thanks for the heads up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm
Sam Segal:

Ever catch the Units, Chresti or Franco? They were from SF around the same period. Seems like they were pretty insane live performers from what I've read.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
chresti:

Not me, I only listened to some SF stuff years later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm
Franco Twinkie:

No. I remember seen their picture in Slash. I think they had a woman singer that wore a house coat, something that the woman singer in Pink Section wore as well. It must have been a San Francisco thing. I don't remember L.A. punks wearing house coats.

Sam! and hello to all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm

David! Great to see you. I thought of you recently when I was at Roulette for Arto Lindsay, Ikue Mori, and Yoshimi O.

Great horse show, Sam! I must turn away from the party and get to sleep soon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02pm

Have a good rest of your night, Chresti!

Chris Farrell:

Sam what was input on the Lost ending? I remember that being a show you watched like it was yesterday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm
Sam Segal:

Loved the "Lost" ending at the time. Not sure how I'd feel about it, if I rewatched the show in the year 2019. At the time, I found it completely profound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm
david w:

Sam, sorry I didn't find you in the YoshimiO crowd. I was in he balcony.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm

Oh you were there too! Man, that was a killer show. My first time seeing Arto Lindsay. Had a blast.

Jeff, your and your timing is good! Your dog must know when I've got my jazz set lined up.

Stopped watching Lost during the last season and still haven't seen the final 2-3 eps.

Jeff g. walking the dog:

Tete getting lots of love lately...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm
Sam Segal:

Despite loving Mad Men, the same thing happened to me. For whatever reason, I never watched the last 2-3 episodes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm
Sam Segal:

Tete has a new record coming out, right?
  10:47pm
Chris Farrell:

It would be funny to strike up a conversation about the series finale of a show years after it was on television and then interject that you don’t want the ending spoiled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm
Sam Segal:

Love that bit, Chris. Especially funny to imagine when you are both the person bringing it up and the person demanding no spoilers.
  10:53pm
Chris Farrell:

Lol.

I don’t honestly think I’ve ever watched a network show from start to finish via live TV.

Coel, hello. How lovely to see you.

I'm not sure about new Tete, but Doug played a cut from a 2012ish record, whick I promptly picked up at Bandcamp.

I missed it all tonight up to now, and the only thing familiar to me on the playlist is Company, cuz I ran a follow-spot for a dinner theater production of it in Jersey forty-(mumble) years ago and evidently have lived a musically constricted life in the intervening years, though it certainly hasn't been Sondheim-saturated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm
Sam Segal:

Honest to god, SBP, if you have any affinity for show tunes, I would urge you to dive into the Company soundtrack.
Avatar 11:36pm
still b/p:

I oughta go back to check out the show's full collection, but a few of the Company numbers stayed with me for good after the early exposure. Ladies Who Lunch, of course; I start singing Barcelona incorrectly every so often; other fragments come and go. Yes, I should do the re-dive!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm
Franco Twinkie:

Is there a psychic connection between Alexandra Spence and Alexander"Skip" Spence? Inner space travel perhaps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm
Sam Segal:

I came so close to playing Ladies Who Lunch.
