  3:07pm
hipHopFreak:

Otis, which side of that Ice-T vinyl do you have facing outwards?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

This makes me think of that old SNL sketch with the late, great Phil Hartman and Sally Field. She's a rabid Christian who keeps praying to Jesus every five seconds, and he materialises in her kitchen to ask her to stop. :-)
Avatar 3:10pm
Otis Fodder:

@HHF - Ice-T is spine facing now on the shelf, normally face up, that's power.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
Jan Turkenburg:

LOL, Georgy, I don't know it, but can just picture it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's a very sweet sketch in the end but also very funny :-)

Stevie really mustve hot the bong hard in the late 70s
  4:28pm
hipHopFreak:

hit*
Avatar 4:30pm
Mr Fab:

"Hot the Bong" sounds like the kind of name bands use now. Only it needs some superfluous punctuation. Like "Hot. the Bong."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I love the incorporation of concept album tracks, Otis. I didn't see that coming. It fits in beautifully.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm

Going to say goodnight at my usual halfway point and listen to the rest of today tomorrow during cooking. Fabulous show, Otis!! Huge hugs, everyone :-)

  5:03pm
hipHopFreak:

You are totally justified in playing this
Avatar 5:04pm
Mr Fab:

ha, justified in playing this ancient album!

Oh man, "Chill Out"... did I play the heck out of it. 'twas my fave ambient album for the longest time.
  5:07pm
hipHopFreak:

Is it true that The Klf burned 1 million sheep on a Scottish Island?
Avatar 5:10pm

...and now at 50, I'm slightly ancient.

Don-O:

Da Whale! Da Whale!
Avatar 5:24pm
Mr Fab:

Oh gawd, Steve Miller really did make a rap record..? Oh my. Somewhere, Brian Wilson is saying, "see, 'Smart Girls' wasn't so bad, now was it?"
Avatar 5:25pm
Mr Fab:

However, I do stand by Neil Young's "Trans." So there ya go.
Avatar 5:26pm
Otis Fodder:

Sample and Hold and all of Trans, yes!
Avatar 5:30pm
Mr Fab:

Ok, you got me. Once he stopped the "rapping," that wasn't a bad groove.
Avatar 5:30pm
grantbob:

Nacho City... My kind of town.
Avatar 5:31pm
Don-O:

Can anybody dance to this?!
Avatar 5:34pm
Mr Fab:

Well Don-O, as a white guy trying to find a groove, the Tom Tom Club he aint't. More suitable for droning out to. He is a space cowboy, after all.
  5:37pm
hipHopFreak:

Original version come with a insert. Self-Released one sided EP

Created by mingo l'indien from Les Georges Leningrad
Ismael, Philippe and Simon from Duchess Says
and Rakam
Avatar 5:47pm
Don-O:

These last few tracks reminds me of Don Joyce doing a two show series on OTE, "Long Cut Suck" (I think that was the title). I suspect that he needed a small break from the usual work load associated with the standard OTE show and that's how that came about; the return of the MUCH earlier days of the show.....before Negativloand moved in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm
Rich in Washington:

I'd like to hear that one, Don-O!
Avatar 5:51pm
Otis Fodder:

I'd like to hear those too, are they in the OTE archives online?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember the show he did right after his apartment burned down. He just played music, because he couldn't put a normal OTE together.
Avatar 5:52pm
Mr Fab:

Just about every '70s prog album would qualify, i'd reckon.
  5:52pm
hipHopFreak:

petit chanson disco pour soirée romantique avec votre douce moitié!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm
Rich in Washington:

I think I told y'all about that cool streaming channel where someone just streams random OTE episodes 24/7. I listen to it often while I'm sleeping.
Avatar 5:54pm
Mr Fab:

Ha for Disco Gag! Is the rest of the album that silly?
Avatar 5:54pm
Don-O:

Rich Otis: Well, I don't think that show on Archive.org....yet. I know they are still transferring more show and it will probably be another five years to get part 2 up.
Avatar 5:55pm
Otis Fodder:

Yes, all silly Fab.
Avatar 5:55pm
Don-O:

Pelican Dance......?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm
Rich in Washington:

I keep wondering when the next batch of digitized OTEs are going to hit the archives. Last I heard, they were still digitizing Don's cassette stash, with some episodes taped by listeners, but there haven't been any 'new' episodes for a couple of years.
  5:56pm
hipHopFreak:

Thanks a bunch Otis, great show.
