Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I struggle doing that when I'm not live ... lol
  3:20pm
Martinibomb:

it's true it gets tricky when you are live. And takes away from being able to chat. I'm almost of the mind that I should do the playlist later?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I mean ... if we're front and back announcing I don't see why we can't fill the playlist in post-show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm

I did!!!

the live playlist is essential to music geeks like me
  3:26pm

but ill understand if u dont want to do it

Is the playlist not showing?

or u can plan what ure gonna playand post it upfront as before
  3:29pm

some people are less likely to tune in live if the playlist aint there
Avatar 3:29pm
Katya Oddio:

Have been amazed since WFMU introduced the playlist system that DJs have kept up with spinning, speaking, chatting, and playlisting. In studio, they have a producer to help, right?
Avatar 3:29pm
Otis Fodder:

Might be a little delay here and there posting. Breaking the playlist sweat. Yah!
  3:30pm
Martinibomb:

I suppose I'll prioritize voice and playlist over text chat in the future
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

You're genuinely doing brilliantly and we can see the playlist perfectly :-)
  3:30pm
Martinibomb:

yeh everything is perfect on this end Otis
  3:31pm
Layton Sports Cards:

many djs only do artist and track, which is sufficient
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm

@MB - yep. Think that's the solution I'm gonna go with too :-)
  3:32pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
chresti:

I like the dates when they're provided. Otis, you're going like gangbusters here! With DJs and playlists/comments, it depends on what media the tracks are from, like all 7" singles leave less time for commenting, etc

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm

Images are like an extra layer of frosting, it's a nice touch that isn't necessary, we can look it up. Although, I must say, you have some real extra special album covers when you do add them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm
Webhamster Henry:

There should be a Sheena show that only plays "Hits Of Today", "The Now Sounds of the New Generation", "Groovy Hits Vol 9", "Die Heutige Schlager", etc. etc.

@Webmaster Henry - funny you should say that ... ;-)

Didn't you (Otis) do a live fill-in for Ken sometime in the past?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah. Even more recently than that, Otis' show here was simulcast on the main WFMU stream in an emergency sub situation.
Avatar 4:17pm
Mr Fab:

Filling in for Sheila, with Ken manning the dump button. Engineer Jeff upstairs was listening to the Sheena stream, a few seconds ahead of the broadcast channel, and he'd shout down to Ken "F-bomb coming!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

Love Sergio Mendez. Great choice.
Avatar 4:20pm

I felt so bad, but also laughed. Had no clue it would go live and recorded it the night before. Fun times! The F-Bomb Risk Management department was spot-on that day!

You know, if this live stuff goes big enough, there should a contest of who can play the most scratched up record. For course, there should be a time limit as that would be worse than playing Xanadu.

St-Michel area is great for a massive flea market open year round + cheap to live and not so gentrified.

so i remembered correctly Otis? its way out of the centre, like a 2 hour walk. Sound about right? i was there about 13 years ago so my memory is hazy.

@Layton Thanks! I was staying in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal - most of the people there seemed to speak English too. I was trying to be respectful and at least wanted greet in French but even that was not easy! But I'd love to go back there and check out St-Michel next time!

And the Little Italy area where I live is great, we have one of the largest outdoor Farmer's Markets, The Marche Jean-Talon, open year round. Come back and visit all, now until October is a perfect time to visit... before winter starts to set in.

I'm looking at the Jean-Talon website - that looks absolutely gorgeous! We have tiny and not terribly frequent farmers' markets in Brighton, unfortunately. I'd love to have something more vibrant.

@GG - All those times I mention I'm heading to the farmer's market in our shenna group chats, that's where I'm at. Today matter of fact with the bag of plums!

Never had a farmer's market like this until I moved here. In California though we did have amazing fruit stands I remember growing up.

@Mayuko - I love your show btw. Usually listen in archives as Saturdays are my day off and out and about... but just wanted to give you a fellow DJ shout!

I'm currently looking at the maple syrup recipes on the website :-)
The nearest place to here for really good farmer's markets is probably London.

@Otis I heard some nice french-disco stuff in Montreal, I had no idea what they were but it was such a great time dancing to them. Thank you for playing Kaméléon - now I have some clue! Hopefully my next visit won't be December....

One of the nice things about living in California is the produce. I forget that a lot of places don't have such a selection year-round.

I haven't been to Montreal in two years but I usually have a good time - busy though. I was put up at Chateau Versailles which was tiny but also at McGill's faculty Housing complex which was twice the size of my apartment.
