That opener was very cool! Had to stop my horse and listen!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm
Sam Segal:

Thanks for stopping, Doc! Stay a spell, why don't you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm
doctorjazz:

Sounds good (literally and figuratively).
  9:12pm
Dean:

I only learned about Rafi when my first child appeared in 2006. Best children's music for my kids has been, among others, Cheech Marin's "School Bus Driver" tune and, these days, Cardi B.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm
doctorjazz:

They Might Be Giants hada GREAT children's album, called No (my kids still love it in their 20s)
Avatar 9:18pm
TDK60:

Rumors are that TDK60 the tapeslinger from out east is headed into town to go over to that Woofmoo tavern. I hear that's a right odd place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm
Sam Segal:

Oh wow, I listened to that TMBG kid's album when I was little. Loved the song "Violin."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
Sam Segal:

Howdy, TDK!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
Sam Segal:

@Dean: The kids can't get enough Cardi B. I enjoy her myself, in fact!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm
doctorjazz:

Violin always makes me crack up. My kids still play it for friends.
  9:26pm
Dean:

As do I. I love her smarts, her filth, her delivery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33pm
doctorjazz:

Sam,that explains how you got such far out taste in music (a good thing).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm
Sam Segal:

Hahaha it was all that "Vio-lin-lin-lin-lin." That does explain a lot!
Avatar 9:46pm
still b/p:

How do you say QWERTY in Japanese?
  9:47pm
Dean:

I"ll take a stab at it, still b/p...

"QWERTY in Japanese."

How's that?
  9:48pm
Dean:

(Whether you like it or not, that's how I say it.)
Avatar 9:53pm

Polyglot, polyglot, Oh, poly poly poly,

Hello-going home!! No horses, just rattlesnakes and coyotes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm
Sam Segal:

Steer clear of the rattlers and the prowlers, Chresti!
  10:25pm
chresti:

On my way home now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm
Sam Segal:

Late work night for you, Chresti?
  10:34pm
Carmichael:

Heya Sam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm
Sam Segal:

Hello and welcome, Carmichael. How wonderful to see you!
  10:58pm
chresti:

Yeah, late shift today. I’m home now, after driving on big freeways full of cars while listening.,bRB
  11:04pm
Chris Farrell:

Hey Sam didn’t have a chance to catch the show live tonight. Going to listen to it later tonight. Hope all is well in the horse-based universe!
  11:05pm
Chris Farrell:

I don’t know if it stated if you lost your horse or if you ever had a horse. But, if you lose your horse, this is the place to be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm
Sam Segal:

Hey, Chris! Horse is good. Getting two cats tomorrow. Bless up!
  11:07pm
Carmichael:

Trying to bbq AGAIN. Lazy family ....
  11:13pm
Dean:

Started listening today to a stream of 27 discs of Berlioz, a recent box set from Warner. Pretty spectacular. It'll take me a week to get through it all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm
Sam Segal:

27 discs in a week. Not bad!
  11:19pm
Dean:

I've already made it through two Harold in Italy traversals, one of which wasn't even among the selections in the box set! I recommend the piece, even though I'm not a huge Berlioz fan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm
doctorjazz:

4 discs a day, impressive!
  11:22pm
Dean:

More than that, doc, because I only listen at work and I won't be in the office tomorrow, so ... 27 / 4 = almost 7 disks a day. I'll manage.
  11:23pm
Dean:

Not counting today, so ... fewer.
  11:26pm
Carmichael:

Wow. My wife’s great aunt and uncle gave us their Arthur Rubenstein LPs of Chopin interpretations. Stunning, intense piano.
  11:29pm
Dean:

One could spend a life exploring Chopin Nocturne recitals.
  11:30pm
Carmichael:

I was surprised at the quality of the 60s recording. Hear a pin drop sound.
  11:34pm
Dean:

Recording quality is not a function of vintage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm
doctorjazz:

Actually, many think the 60s was the golden age for classical recording quality. Old Mercury and RCA shaded dogs fetch a pretty penny.

Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

riding on in with a howdy hey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm
Sam Segal:

Granny, you ol' dog! Thanks for popping by.
  11:41pm
Dean:

Good example, doc. I don't restrict my assessment to "classical" recordings. Fast forward to Kavi Alexander's Water Lily Acoustics, Marc Rusch's CIMP, the early to late work of Marc Aubort and Joanna Nickrenz... "Golden age" leaves out some tremendous work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm
doctorjazz:

No argument, Dean, lots of good recordings since, but I did know collectors who go after that 60s vintage stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm
doctorjazz:

Have a bunch myself, a collectorfriend's leftovers.
  11:48pm
Dean:

...and I bet you notice that some are good, some not so much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm
chresti:

Thanks Sam! Haven't been able to chat too much, listening though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm
Sam Segal:

Thanks for riding with me, Chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52pm
doctorjazz:

Sure. When I get a chance to pull them out (not as efficient as you are, terribly backed up with new arrivals)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
doctorjazz:

Thanks,Sam, great horsin' around tonight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm

Thank you, Doc! Always a pleasure to have you.
