I knew someone that had a car like that. He would gun it up a steep dirt pile, to see how far up it would go
Avatar 9:11pm Martinibomb:

First time listening! Hello fellow wfmu dj I'm in Portland on Sheenas
Avatar 9:11pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm Sam Segal:

Chresti! Why am I not surprised to learn that you knew someone cool enough to drive a whip like that?
Avatar 9:16pm Martinibomb:

This soundtrack is great today. Odd day in Portland Oregon.. super nice and then... crazy rain fall right now! and your show is the perfect soundtrack to it all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm chresti:

It was primer grey, low to the ground
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm Sam Segal:

Unrelenting humid heat and sunshine here in NYC today.
Avatar 9:21pm Martinibomb:

At least in Oregon we don't get the humidity you get
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm chresti:

He was about 15. He would roll the car down the pile, backwards when it refused to go forward, then he'd do it again, over and over..
  9:24pm Ike:

Hi all! Haven’t had a chance to listen to this show live much lately. Sounds good!
Avatar 9:25pm Martinibomb:

hello Ike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm chresti:

The time I was in Portland in the summer, it felt humid compared to what I was used to. Not unpleasant though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Sam Segal:

Ike! Thanks for stopping back over in Horse. Great to see you.
  9:35pm Chris Farrell:

Hey Sam can’t tune in until I have WiFi. Looking forward to catching the rest of the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm Sam Segal:

Chris, wifi or no wifi...thank you for checking in!
Avatar 9:38pm Martinibomb:

@Chresti hmmm I am surprised it's the one of the things I like here in the summer not that humid must have caught one of the odd days
  9:38pm Chris Farrell:

Your one of the best mate!
Avatar 9:39pm Martinibomb:

I've been in New Oreleans and Florida in the summer ... and new york that's what I consider humid hah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm Sam Segal:

You generally get to spend less time below ground in New Orleans and Florida, which helps on a humid day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm chresti:

I was living in Santa Maria, CA, very dry there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44pm chresti:

Portland was pleasant, unlike Florida humidity
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm chresti:

The first time I went to New York was summer of 77, very humid. I went with my in-laws
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm chresti:

Hiver is winter, I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm Sam Segal:

Haha okay, then a different track on this record is called "Night of the Hunter."

If you lose your horse, choose the right replacement ride (same photog as playlist pic):
  10:32pm Ike:

Oh wow, kittens! Do they have social media yet? Heh.
  10:35pm Chris Farrell:

Soon Sam will be replaced by both Simon and Jasper..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm Sam Segal:

@SBP, I should use that picture for a future episode. Welcome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Sam Segal:

@Ike: Not yet. We need to figure out how to properly brand them first haha. We got them from a great rescue org called Bushwick Street Cats. I seem to recall talking Brooklyn cat rescue organizations with you awhile back when we first thought about getting cats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm Sam Segal:

Hahaha, Chris, slowly but surely!
  10:41pm Chris Farrell:

I think I found someone’s horse..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Sam Segal:

I'd like that Steel Horse on a t-shirt, Chris.
  10:51pm Chris Farrell:

I’ll put in a suggestion for it. He has stickers with it that say “Live cheap. Die Old”.
  10:57pm Jeff g.:

Great set. Thornton is a fave. Hi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm chresti:

So, on my way to work, the man on the radio said that post menopausal women should strive to be more pear shaped, than apple shaped, if they wanted to live longer. What if a woman is eggplant shaped? Or banana shaped?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm Sam Segal:

Hey, Jeff! Wasn't surprised when I punched this record into the playlist search and saw you'd played it before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm doctorjazz:

Good timing on my part, this is cool! Hi all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Sam Segal:

The jazz heads must have felt their...jazz senses...tingling?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm doctorjazz:

(Missed The Battle of the Fallen, what a great track!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Sam Segal:

@Doc: Yes! I just discovered that record recently, and its all been blowing me away.
  11:15pm Carmichael:

Heya Sam and others.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm Sam Segal:

Carmichael! As I live and stream!
  11:21pm Carmichael:

I’m stockpiling explosives and pork ribs. Propane in abundance, barley pops forever.
  11:24pm Chris Farrell:

My dad just bought a pork loin at Costco for the 4th of July season!
  11:36pm Chris Farrell:

Sam have you ever watched Matthew Silvers series he has on YouTube? Living in New York I’m sure you have heard of him?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm chresti:

Thanks Sam, goodnight! Listening while getting ready for bed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm Sam Segal:

Night, Chresti! Sleep well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm Sam Segal:

Chris, I haven't heard of him. Enlighten me!
Avatar 11:40pm still b/p:

chresti -- Are there "Be Your Best Fruit" yoga sessions for shaping? Or maybe some TV pitch will show up with promises for workout apparatus that adjusts the bodily volumes to suit.
".... just 30 days on the Pearadigm Shifter!"
  11:42pm Chris Farrell:

He is a street performer who (to me) uses a very serious issue of the potential decay of human capabilities to entertain people. He has a short YouTube film series where he is followed by like a bunny or something and it ends up being his father. He is what I would consider to be a fringe celebrity who every once in a blue moon used to go viral on social media for his antics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm Sam Segal:

Oh I'll have to check him out. Now, what pray tell do you mean by the "decay of human capabilities"?
  11:52pm Chris Farrell:

That humans are limited in their ability to understand this existence. Matthew Silver usually will play off this and exhibit the physical act of thoughts coming and leaving the body. We are obviously a part of the universe but are limited to our individuality to dictate what we inevitably are.
  11:53pm Carmichael:

I’m having hip troubles. Is that what he means?
  11:58pm Chris Farrell:

One nuance of Matthew Silver is that he trails off on one moment and then erupts at the last minute. Which I see as a way of projecting human perseverance. But another way of seeing it is that his method of thinking is fringe to what America at large is behaving like.

I didn’t really have anything of substance I am trying to convey about this (honestly just making conversation in the chat and I apologize if my presence these last few months has offended any other listeners)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm Sam Segal:

Far from offend, Chris! What's the opposite of offend? Ingratiate? Please? Delight!
  12:02am Chris Farrell:

Great set Sam I seem to have lost something during this short tune in and will take exactly about 1 week to relocate it.
All the best horse friendly folk!
