Avatar 11:02am

Am I hearing the show or something else? A song about Teamwork?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes here as well, I even refreshed the player
Avatar 11:03am

This seems more like what the album cover suggests.
Avatar 11:07am
Mr Fab:

The "teamwork" song was by baseball legend Ernie Banks of the Chicago Cubs, getting back to a discussion we were having somewhere about how athletes made even worse records than actors.
Avatar 11:07am
worldsworstrecords:

Yes, I think that was on my show last week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am
Hopey Sockmonkey:

Haha, actors vs athletes.
Avatar 11:11am
worldsworstrecords:

Loving this
Avatar 11:11am
Mr Fab:

so ANYWAY...welcome Jason, whose new show will take you on an exotic journey into indescribable oddities. Such as the Indonesian children's songs that Mr WorldsWorstRecords mentioned from Jason's debut show last week. Hope you found some more for us, Darryl!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am
Jan Turkenburg:

I think Otis is uploading them to his own website.?
Avatar 11:28am
Otis Fodder:

Very haphazardly for playlists. Lots of sweat. I always have 2-3 crates of stuff I want to play and I am downloading images pre-show for what is in the crates. Want to get more robust with a full excel spreadsheet for all data + image links but not there yet. About 50% of what I pre-plan for images now works... but we all know when playing songs, we can never quite plan it to perfection so I will change my mind/direction often and run across the room and hurry and pull up discogs and upload image via FTP (which I always have filezilla up along with a browser with Discogs). Whew!
Avatar 11:30am
worldsworstrecords:

I have to slope off now - time to get cooking dinner. Really enjoyed the show so far Jason: I'll stream the rest of it later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am

I have to say that I really appreciate all the work you DJs do to make the shows.
Avatar 11:30am

See ya Darryl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yep catch ya later Darryl!
Avatar 11:31am
Otis Fodder:

The Merzbow Mix of Hush there for a moment. I love it when things skip. Hit the side of that CD player a few times. Ha. Time to make some more coffee, back soon, listening in the kitchen...
Avatar 11:33am
Mr Fab:

i request: get like 3 CD players, put in 3 skipping disks, play at the same time. Shit sounds cool!
Avatar 11:34am
Mr Fab:

mr Evolution Control Committee used to send out kits on how to creatively destroy CDs, how to make em skip in fun ways, etc.
Avatar 11:38am
Otis Fodder:

Would love to have ECC have a show on Sheena's one day. Yea, tradeMark is a mashing maverick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Jan Turkenburg:

Are there multiple ways of letting a CD skip?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Jan Turkenburg:

I wasn't aware
Avatar 11:40am
Otis Fodder:

That was most certainly (Dona Onete) late-morning/early afternoon 2nd French Press Pot-O-Delight-Cafe music to groove to in the cuisine Jason. So good.
Avatar 11:51am
Mr Fab:

Not sure all the ways, but you can slice a CD with a knife, write on it with a marker...
Avatar 11:54am
Mr Fab:

i wrote to ECC asking if he would like to bring his old podcast "The Sound of Plaid" here, but he never wrote back. i hear he doesn't really check Facebook either, but may try him there at some point.
Avatar 11:57am
Mr Fab:

Diggin this Himalayan jam. Them Yetis rock!
Avatar 12:08pm
Jason Elbogen:

top cd player is skipping... i'm testing the bottom one to see if it's the player or the disc i burned
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
Jan Turkenburg:

ah, now I recognize the different ways to let a cd skip! :-)
Avatar 12:09pm
Mr Fab:

at the exact moment the cd started skipping, I tried to open a document here at work, and got an error message, saying it was damaged and could not open. Coincidence?! (he said, raising an eyebrow)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm
Jan Turkenburg:

LOL Mr Fab.
Avatar 12:13pm
Mr Fab:

it was actually a weird feeling! Kind of disturbed me for a second.

I was just checking out the wiki entry and saying, wow, I would like the Ema datshi please.

This is great for Etiquette,
"When offered food, one says meshu meshu, covering one's mouth with the hands in refusal according to Bhutanese manners, and then gives in on the second or third offer."

Food and Pool, fantastic.

Hi Rich. I slept in until just after 9am too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Rich, have you decided what to make for breakfast yet?
Avatar 12:36pm
Mr Fab:

a Bhutansese pool hall: sound like some place where a Tom Waits-type character would be hanging out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm
Jan Turkenburg:

btw, Rich, thanks for the files! So busy yesterday, I just downlaoded and haven't listened yet.
Avatar 12:39pm
Otis Fodder:

I wish there was a Folkways Record, "Sounds of the Bhutansese Pool Halls"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
Rich in Washington:

Breakfast is dodgy today. We have no water in the house until the plumber comes. Having a homeowner nightmare scenario this week. Our electrical problems became a plumbing problem.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
Rich in Washington:

Still doing my show today, though. You might here noises in the background while I'm on mic, or me crying because I just saw the bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Jan Turkenburg:

aww... that sounds nasty, Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Rich in Washington:

It's getting sorted out. The pitfall of owning on older home. I'm just getting too decrepit to climb under houses anymore.
Avatar 12:46pm
Mr Fab:

Stay tuned for Rich: a-mixin' and a-sobbin'!

But i feel ya, brother. Yesterday, I had to take a loan out due to all the work we have to do on a property.
Avatar 12:48pm
Otis Fodder:

Sounds horrible, noise and tearup. I have been there, not with plumbing, but I did have my entire front facade of my apt, facing the street, exposed to the public for over a week while they were re-doing the front. Oh, in November where it was freezing. Winter 2017 was an interesting one. Would have made for some great talkover radio sounds.
Avatar 12:49pm
Otis Fodder:

I feel for you too Rich. Inconvenience and Costs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm
Rich in Washington:

Thanks all! It's being sorted. Hopefully well before my show starts today. Either way, it's a test of the whole 'home radio' thing. If all goes well, the only out of place noise will be me crackin' beers open.
Avatar 12:53pm
Otis Fodder:

I look forward to audio abnormalities. Crackin' beers and tears. Will be listening in the archives tomorrow Rich.
Avatar 12:56pm
Otis Fodder:

Everything about this by Vernon is wonderful. The cover alone would draw me in, but this is mighty beautiful music too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I love this one. Just have a thing for children and youth choirs. That won't go away ever!
Avatar 12:59pm

@Fab & Rich in the same boat with house stuff Lol Still trying to catch up. Great show today Jason! I'm just working on my stuff and listening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Rich in Washington:

That's a drag, MB! I'm fine with ongoing repair stuff, it's just when basic services are interrupted that it's challenging. As long as I still have electricity and internet, I'm still radio-active.
Avatar 1:22pm
Otis Fodder:

Right over the music. It's like I sat on the remote by accident and triggered the narration track over the documentary on the TV.
Avatar 1:22pm
Jason Elbogen:

Isn't that narration annoying?
Avatar 1:23pm
Otis Fodder:

Yes, I was looking for the narration off button. Ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm

This is still amazing, though.
