I once took an informal survey of the musician I knew at one particularly loud show about hearing loss. One guy told me when he was in high school he stuck his head into a Larry Taylor's bass cabinet at the Whisky and things have never been the same since.

Bill, I saw Little Feat playing outside on afternoon when Roy was in the band. He was wearing striped slacks and a Mexican serape. I asked him if they would do Dog Breath, he was real nice but said that's another bands material. Just then, Richie Hayward jumps in front of us like a monkey falling out of a tree and says "We'll do it for one joint, man! You got one joint!?!" I did not have a joint.
