andy the painter:
@gaylord. yeah, looking fwd to the show.
i think it’s a great idea. had a great time at W&B’s auction last year. but (i guess) hats off to dave hill for getting the art auction ball rolling....
There’s a band in the park playing sloppy 70s covers. FMU now more than ever.

I liked M83’s music in Knife + Heart.

Yo mr dj...1966, Marina City, Chicago....opening WCFL VIP room...bands in attendance...New Colony Six, American Breed, ....my brother and I were there too
Speaking of giving the people what they want — and insight into my personal MP3 curation — AC/DC should just get off of their high horse and give the people what they want: “Back in Black” plus the only other four pre-1980s singles people care about without that stupid “Big Balls” track.
9:16pm
Carmichael:
I love this 60s hi fi high brow stuff. I should put on my smoking jacket.
For those who don’t know, AC/DC doesn’t release greatest hits CDs and the bootleg (aka: Russian and such) compilations are filled with their 1980s and onward dreck.
Because AC/DC are auteurs who demand you listen to 7 mediocre versions of the same song they always play before listening to the one tolerable version of the same song they always play on each album.

I'll never walk on by to your show Gaylord...saw Dionne this summer...scintallating...soothing...sensual...the pride of orange, nj...talked to her about Burt Bacharach after the show...what a beautiful moment...

John from Florham park:
@jakegould in other words they feel their shit don’t stink

Wilbur Ross should be forced to wear a jacket that is literally smoking because it is on fire.
Exotica has been my favorite music genre for a few years now. Great show Gaylord
9:40pm
Carmichael:
My parents would frequent a Polynesian restaurant in the 60s, and we kids would hear this as background music. Andre Kostelanz and Martin Denny were burned in my young brain.
I’ve been listening since the start, enjoying some drinks with a couple of girlfriends whilst you put together this exceptionally beautiful show. Thank you, Gaylord. I’ve enjoyed every minute.
