I was lucky to see her with Sam Butera (Louis and Keely’s old saxist) in Vegas in 1994, then got the chance to interview her in the early 2000s for Time Out — she was so generous with the stories and (as far as I could tell) did not sugarcoat any of it. Great woman.

	♥ 9:36am The Oscar: Mornin'! Back in my record store days we had to make handwritten placeholder cards for sealed CDs to put in the racks, and it became a game to quickly and accurately recreate the album covers on post-its. My two favorite people to draw were Chet Baker and Hank Williams; both had sharp features and beady eyes that were immensely satisfying.

Back in my record store days we had to make handwritten placeholder cards for sealed CDs to put in the racks, and it became a game to quickly and accurately recreate the album covers on post-its. My two favorite people to draw were Chet Baker and Hank Williams; both had sharp features and beady eyes that were immensely satisfying.
