Musical theater from off the beaten path. Obscure and unusual show tunes from within the canon and without, flops, failures, and the newest works from up-and-coming artists—plus tried-and-true hits. Also, occasional appearances from songs that are not show tunes (but only if they go really well with show tunes).

If you are in studio C, the levels on the board are always low; look at the levels on the SAMcast application instead and see what the music levels are registering as before you go on mic. (So says the notorious low-talker). :-) The music levels have been good!

I think that was the problem, I had seem the movie before the show, and really had high expectations for the show. It didn't capture the feelings the movie did.

SONDHEIM
  7:59pm
Scraps:

I finally got into musicals through Sondheim. I sniffed at musicals for a long time, like my generation did (and does), and Sondheim blew my perception-doors down, so that I was able to appreciate other good musicals.
  8:03pm
Doug Schulkind:

Sondheim makes me think Company, which makes me think D.A Pennebaker’s “making of the cast album” documentary, which makes me think D.A. Pennebaker, which makes me think about death. So, by transitive property, Sondheim makes me think about death.
  8:06pm
WebHamster Henry:

Pacific overtures has lots of delights in it.
  8:08pm
Scraps:

Yeah. Sondheim makes me think of late wife Velma, so death, etc.

Ah.... like I said the last time you played this, this is one of my ten favorite Sondheim songs. Death, again.
Avatar 8:08pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

i <3 pacific overtures. this is another song that makes me want to throw out every lyric i've ever written. 7 minutes long and not a second wasted
Avatar 8:08pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

Have some tea, my Lord
Some chrysanthemum tea
It's a tangled situation
As your father would agree
And it mightn't be so tangled
If you hadn't had him strangled —
But I fear that I stray, my Lord

i mean come on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm

haha doctorjazz i was going to ask if your daughter wanted to be in my show (unless you mean someone else). there is one female role in the show i'm producing next year BUT i can only pay each actor about $50 each (but it is a very amateur production which would not be a big time suck...)
