This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

hello! missed last week live and might be sporadically available live tonight but wanted to mention the Godzilla music show was AMAZING! totally capped off my month of watching multiple Godzilla movies on TCM every Friday night.

Hi Hyde! That's so great to hear, you have no idea
Avatar 7:07pm

Tonight's show is a little more half-baked as it's been a busy week to say the least but I promise it should be edible
Avatar 7:13pm
hyde:

@Flash haha when i listened to the show in the archive i was so sad i missed my chance to opine on stuff i had seen (again). what was great was TCM of course showed the Japanese cuts (i think all the ones that are in the Criterion box set) and there was so much that i had missed because when i was a kid the American cuts took out most of the plot of a lot of those movies and just left in the rubber monsters
Avatar 7:13pm

@Flash a lot of the Godzilla movies are fun but sorta rote. I do really love Destroy All Monsters because it's such a free for all. (And i once saw it on a 16mm print at the Amherst Public Library, which is one of my favorite movie screenings of all time). From my kidhood the one non-Godzilla Toho flick i have always worshipped is Attack of the Mushroom People.
