I wasn't bit by a cat, but got hit in the eye by a laser beam during a show yesterday. Partially blinded for a few minutes, which was scary, but it passed. Visually compelling show, by the way, with neon-like threads on the dancers, in darkness most of the time. The dance was good but not great, but I think the gear hindered them some. A Japanese company called El Squad (there was even some tsugaru jamisen in the soundtrack)

And I say this with no irony: Baby Yoda from “The Mandalorian” has really made me feel good. Heck, that whole show made me feel good because it doesn’t sugar coat the way peasants were treated during the wars that encompass “Star Wars.” Finally a very relatable and real story in “Star Wars” thanks to a guy constantly in a helmet and a very cute (and smart) puppet.

Well, if you want to know about war and trauma, my dad really liked “The Empire Strikes Back” because it was dark and bleak for a supposed kids film. I was the one who dragged him to see it, but he liked the realness of it. Also, the latest episode of “The Mandalorian” is basically a retelling of “Seven Samurai” in the world of “Star Wars.” And it includes the brutality of villagers being attacked and killed. Pretty sure my mom and dad would be able to relate to that. Also Baby Yoda.
