@funky16corners I went to University of Maryland 1975-1981 (5 1/2 year plan) and they played A LOT in the area back then. Saw them once at a place in Baltimore (The Famous Ballroom) that had funky papiermache clouds hanging from the ceiling. The Nighthawks were so loud a couple of the clouds shook loose in the encore.

I've always had a "Yeah, but...." attitude about my lattter-stage Boom timing when the references or assumptions start flyin' and floatin'.

Same here, digging this. Bruce is something I have never gotten into, except Nebraska and Born In The USA (simply a part of an 80s childhood, you heard its songs everywhere, even here in Finland with limited national radio airtime available for rock music and other adventures). And now I am surprised how good this sounds.

I finally got my Bruce story one night in Asbury Park. Larry and I and the kids were crossing the street on a summer night between Convention Hall and the Wonder Bar. This was after it started cleaning up but before the madness of now. I turned my head to look around while we waited to cross and there was Bruce. I was squeezing Larry’s hand. Bruce! Bruce! I was finally a Jersey Girl.

first time I ever saw him live was at Alex Cooley's electric Ballroom in Atlanta Georgia in 1975 just before Born to Run was released... where was sitting at a table having drinks about 50 feet from the stage!!!

The film "Streets of Fire" was named for the Springsteen song, but negotiations broke down on using it in the film. There is no Springsteen song in the film.
