Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03am Aitch:

Or a very hot afternoon..
Avatar 12:10am mariano:

How are things in your neck of the woods with the fires and dust storms, Aitch?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am Aitch:

Finally got rain in the SE in the form of giant hail stones. Settled the fires down for a bit, smoke mostly blown away for now at least. Hot and weird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20am ultradamno:

Commissioned jingle or audition?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am ultradamno:

The B-Side is Juicy Fruit. Nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23am ultradamno:

Though Planter's peanuts would go better with Coke.
Avatar 12:23am mariano:

Sorry to hear, Aitch, glad the worst of the fires seems to be over, hopefully. Gonna be there from Mar 3-16, Sydney and Adelaide, maybe a day or two in Wollongong to see some friends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am Aitch:

Best time of the year, not too hot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am ultradamno:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am Aitch:

WFMU my default work radio station, on most days, very much like your show, but it's been good all day, started with Spin Age Blasters this morning, a mad ride since.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am TomDash:

  1:52am Diezel Tea:

Good morning friends and Tom.
Avatar 1:55am northguineahills:

Swimming in "Bengal", or, the "Sea of Bengal", an important distinction for the aural aquanauts out there...

@Diezel tea: inch pes e amen inch Hayastanum?
Avatar 2:06am mariano:

Is that Armenian, @ngh?
  2:10am Diezel Tea:

Haha, ameninch lav e hima, nor gorci skzbum em Petravarum. (Yes, that's Armenian, and NGH is doing a very good job, hehe, I'm one of the 5 FMU listeners we have in the whole country.) Tom, thanks for playing a terrific set, OOIOO, SP and KJ. Apres yexpayrs!
Avatar 2:10am northguineahills:

Thanks Tom! I've had a hard few months, and I see the (figurative) dawn arising, and OOiOO hit me correct, and oddly, as is this Skinny Puppy!

@mariano: I dated an Armenian girl in HS, and although being into linguistics, its probably somewhat wrong or stifling formal as I translate from English from my head, Diezel Tea can help me learn (on how bad is my translation).
Avatar 2:12am northguineahills:

… errr and how bad my English is as well....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12am TomDash:

Hey Diezel Tea and n.g.h. - glad you're digging it!
Avatar 2:17am mariano:

That's really interesting, thanks Diezel and ngh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19am fred:

Hello Tom and listeners
  2:27am curtis_chaos_la_la:

This is a set up
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29am TomDash:

hey fred & curtis - welcome!
Avatar 2:30am mariano:

Hey fred! Speaking of Armenian, I remember FMU played an all-female Armenian punk band called Incest a few years back, think I have the album somewhere in my sprawling archive. What's the music scene like in Armenia these days?
Avatar 2:35am northguineahills:

Like Finnish, Armenian is also is its own branch of the Indo European language family (Latin, Germanic [including English], Persian, Hindi, etc... It's really hard to translate for English speakers. I just know a few phrases and words...
  2:36am Diezel Tea:

@Mariano don't get me started on the music scene here. Also, that band was likely from the US as there was no all female punk band here, though we do have a 4/5 female black metal band but they're not active. When it comes to live music rock is limited to indie rock ripoff bands and unimaginative extreme metal bands. The purpose for being in a rock band is getting fame, not creating art or having fun. My friends and I started a punk band a few years ago just because there wasn't a single punk band in the country, to kinda show kids there are other rock genres to explore. Then we broke up because none of us were really into playing punk anyway. The electronic music scene is pretty decent, most are meh djs but we have some decent producers here, including myself. I can send you some recommendations if you're into techno.
  2:39am curtis_chaos_la_la:

spoke Aquarian
tonite and cling Capri cusp
blue (believes in) moons
Avatar 2:41am northguineahills:

@mariano: There was a Wire article 3 years ago on the music scene in Yerevan, and I found an English language podcast focusing on feminism in Armenia but also cover female performers from riot grrrrlesque to the experimental avant-garde.

Thanks, Tom, oneiric waves hitting my brain. Buenas noches y ayanasuminasai!
  2:45am curtis_chaos_la_la:

Soft punk
Avatar 2:50am mariano:

Thanks again, Diezel and ngh. That's really interesting about the music scene - would definitely appreciate recommendations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51am TomDash:

Thanks for tuning in, ya'll - had a blast as always...see ya next week!
