Is it just me or is it wrong to paint wood trim with a roller brush? I just moved back into my house after I had to have some work done and just noticed that the trim they painted is textured like the wall, feels sort of crappy and cheap.
Avatar 4:18pm
worldsworstrecords:

Very wrong
Avatar 4:19pm
worldsworstrecords:

You need a brush for gloss paint on wood
Avatar 4:21pm
worldsworstrecords:

how funny! I played Wyngarde's version of Neville Thumbcatch only two nights ago on the WWRRS
Avatar 4:22pm
Linda Lee:

can't begin to imagine a song called 'neville thumbcatch'..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
melinda:

It didn't occur to me that they would not use a brush so I didn't check during the walk-through. Very disappointing but at least it looks better than the chipped and peeling paint layers before, and I have a can of paint left over to re-do later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm

@coel, yeah, it's really bothering me that something which seems so obvious to me wasn't to the person who did the painting. I don't think it was the person I hired but probably his assistant. I have trouble being assertive but I might send a text.

Avatar 5:13pm
Linda Lee:

who was the 3 piece?
Avatar 5:14pm
Linda Lee:

Daltrey, Townsend and ... ?
Avatar 5:15pm

I mean while John E was still around... the actual band was a five piece, with Rabbit on keyboards and (I think one time) with Kenny Jones on drums
Avatar 5:16pm

aho!
Avatar 5:16pm
worldsworstrecords:

The second time might have been Zak Starkey on drums... not sure
Avatar 5:17pm

It was, but I've just checked and I think I'm mis-remembering; Glitter did Quadrophenia with them; I saw them do Tommy with people including Billy Idol. I can only have seen the Glitter performance on film

here's the thing: how does anyone actually get you by your feet & then over a balcony? how can that possibly work if you're not 2 years old?
Avatar 5:23pm
worldsworstrecords:

Yes, the Don Arden/Robert Stigwood story is absolutely true. I mention it in my new book!
Avatar 5:24pm
Linda Lee:

the man must be the devil. that's all.
Avatar 5:24pm
worldsworstrecords:

It was two of Arden's heavies, and they had hold of him while they forced him over the balcony... probably by his waist rather than his feet
Avatar 5:26pm

ah. of course. heavies paid out of your own money.. to dip you over a balcony. i think i'd say screw the contract at that point.

Avatar 5:35pm

I saw a doc on Arden somewhere in YT and he was a the rough type. He ran Jet Records and also ran the label into the ground in the early 80's cause of too many lawsuits....
Avatar 5:37pm
Linda Lee:

hope he took a nice dive from the balcony to finish up.
