Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from February 14, 2020 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Michael. When I was a youngster, my friend Robert and I would walk over the train bridge to a truck stop called Haddicks. We would sit at the counter with an order of french fries between us, put nickles into the juke box and play Hang On Sloopy by The McCoys over and over until we we asked to leave. I understand the mystique of the truck stop. Kind of.

I think my friend Steve Barncard would have been at A&M recording then...or maybe not quite yet. Those studios were the old Chaplin film lot.

Yes Michael, Most of the band who were on A&M had the option of practicing on the Chaplin stage, which was a real pain in ass to load into, because it only had one elephant door that was about five feet off the sidewalk. I know, I use to work there.
