Also, as many have commented elsewhere, he blamed poor homeowners in Brooklyn and southeast Queens for the foreclosure crisis rather than the scum lenders who preyed on them with misleading predatory loans or the scum titans of finance who repackaged risky loans and transmuted them into allegedly risk-free investments. He ramped up the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy despite explicitly acknowledging it targeted black and Latinos and resulted in arrests something like less than 1% of the time.
